Gojo Satoru: The Strongest Sorcerer Among Exorcists

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: The Curious Chitanda Eru

Gojo Satoru walked leisurely down the empty hallway, whistling an unrecognizable tune with his hands tucked in his pockets.

From the nearby classrooms, he could hear homeroom teachers taking attendance or students introducing themselves.

"Class 1-F," he murmured to himself.

Class 1-F was the class Gojo had been assigned to this semester.

When he first approached the principal of Sobu High, he'd initially wanted to teach the second-year students, partly because Umaru had just started her second year.

But after thinking it over, he realized teaching first-year students would be far more entertaining.

Not for any noble reason—just because he could do whatever he wanted.

As for why the principal of Sobu High agreed to let a man of unknown origin not only join the school but become a homeroom teacher?

That story went back three months.

No, it wasn't because, as Hiratsuka Shizuka suspected, Gojo bribed the principal.

It all started one night when Gojo, bored and looking for something to do, wandered into Magano to hunt down a Basara to play with.

There, he happened upon a bald man being chased by a monster.

That bald man, of course, was none other than Sobu High's current principal.

You can imagine the rest: Gojo saved the principal's life.

Yes, it was just that cliché and absurd.

(Don't question it too much. Just go with it.)

"Alright, here we are."

Stopping in front of the classroom door labeled "1-F," Gojo smirked and reached for the handle.

He pulled the door open just enough to create a small gap, then slowly peeked his white-haired head into the room. His cheerful voice followed:

"Moshi moshi, sorry to interrupt!"

Silence.

Not a single person responded.

Every student in the room stared at the doorway, their expressions a mix of confusion and disbelief.

Their wide eyes seemed to ask: "You're not seriously our homeroom teacher, are you?"

"That's right! I'm your homeroom teacher for this semester," Gojo declared with a smile, clearly understanding their thoughts.

The students remained silent, though a few mentally screamed:

Why is he only poking his head in? That's creepy! And what's with the cutesy tone?

Please just come in properly, sensei!

Clack—

Gojo finally slid the door open fully and stepped into the classroom.

The moment he did, most students couldn't help but gape.

So tall!

At over 190 cm, Gojo towered over the average Japanese male, whose height typically hovered around 170 cm. For these first-year high school students—most still growing—he might as well have been a giant.

Some of the shorter boys barely reached 160 cm, while even the tallest were only slightly over 170 cm.

As for the girls, with an average height of around 160 cm, they found themselves craning their necks just to look him in the eye.

Gojo walked to the podium but didn't sit in the prepared chair. Instead, he perched casually on the desk, leaning back with his arms braced behind him like an old man enjoying a sunny day.

"Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the new semester. As I just mentioned, I'm your homeroom teacher, Gojo Satoru. You can call me Gojo-sensei. As for my hobbies… I love sweets," he said with a grin.

His introduction was met with a round of applause.

No matter how odd he seemed, he was still their homeroom teacher, and respect was customary.

"Well then, it's your turn now."

Gojo scanned the room with a gleaming smile, resting his chin on his hand as if deep in thought. After a moment, he raised his hand and pointed dramatically.

"You! The girl sitting by the wall in the first row. I choose you!"

Gojo-sensei, are you trying to be a Pokémon trainer?

Several boys couldn't help but groan inwardly at his theatrics but soon shifted their attention to the girl he'd called on.

In an instant, many of them were mesmerized.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Chitanda Eru. I don't have any particular hobbies or interests, but I'm good at cooking. I look forward to getting along with you all this year."

Her voice was serious and polite, her demeanor radiating a sense of refinement.

She had long, flowing black hair and a delicate, pure face. Even in Sobu High's plain uniform, it was clear that her figure was outstanding.

Her entire aura was that of an elegant young lady untouched by the mundane world.

"Well done, Chitanda-san. That was a great introduction," Gojo said, clapping lightly.

"You may take your seat now."

"Um, Gojo-sensei, I have a question," Chitanda said before sitting down.

"Oh? Please, go ahead."

Her violet eyes locked onto Gojo's as she tilted her head slightly. After a few seconds of intense observation, she finally spoke with a serious expression:

"Gojo-sensei, can you see clearly with that blindfold on? I'm really curious!"

Her question, simple yet earnest, reflected what nearly everyone in the classroom had been wondering.

From the moment they first saw Gojo, their attention had been drawn not to his striking face but to the black blindfold covering his eyes.

How can he see with that?
