Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

"Kanoka!? What are you doing here? It's been so long since I last saw you..." Tanaka said, surprised.

"I just came to buy new sneakers... it really has been a long time," the girl said shyly.

"You've changed a bit... your hair is shorter, and it seems like you've grown even taller, but looks like you're still playing volleyball," Tanaka commented.

"Yes, I'm still playing and I'm part of the volleyball club at my school, Niiyama Girls' High. Besides, you don't seem to have changed much either..." the girl said, blushing slightly.

"What? I haven't changed?! Is that a bad thing?" Tanaka thought, shuddering.

"No... not that it's a bad thing!" Kanoka said frantically, worried about being misunderstood.

"Ah haha... anyway, I'm still playing volleyball too, now for Karasuno High School. We'll be playing in the Interhigh preliminaries in a month," Tanaka said, embarrassed.

"We'll be playing in the girls' division too..." said Kanoka, who noticed a tall guy passing behind her and joining Tanaka.

"Oh, Tanaka, who's this? Your friend?" Hinata asked with a smile on his face.

"Well, she's a childhood friend, Kanoka Amanai," Tanaka said.

"Good morning, I'm Hinata Shoyo, first-year at Karasuno High School, nice to meet you!" Hinata said, waving.

"Nice to meet you too!" said Kanoka.

"So, what are you going to do after this, Kanoka?" Tanaka asked, trying not to seem too excited.

"I have to finish up here quickly because my mom is waiting to take me back..." the girl said, standing up and grabbing the shoebox she had chosen.

"So you're leaving already... could we at least exchange... exchange... EXCHANGE NUMBERS!?" Tanaka asked loudly while bowing and holding out his phone to Kanoka.

"Of course! Why would I refuse to keep in touch with someone so special?..." Kanoka said while quickly saving her number in Tanaka's phone and turning away, running slightly while her face appeared to be extremely red.

"Man! That was amazing!" Hinata said while putting his hands on Tanaka's shoulders.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AMAZING, SHE RAN AWAY AND DIDN'T EVEN SAY GOODBYE, SHE MUST HATE ME!" Tanaka sighed.

"Dude, I'm not an expert in female feelings, but when a girl who isn't your relative says you're special to her, IT MEANS YOU HAVE A CHANCE!" Hinata said while giving Tanaka a thumbs up.

"I have a chance?" Tanaka pondered.

"Haven't you bought the shoes yet, Ryu?" Nishinoya said while entering the store accompanied by Kageyama.

"I was about to try them on but I met an old friend here!" Tanaka said thoughtfully.

"WHAT?! Friend?" Nishinoya asked.

"Yeah... we exchanged phone numbers and she left..." Tanaka finished.

"That's awesome! You got lucky this time!" Nishinoya said.

"Holy crap!" said Hinata.

"What?" Kageyama asked.

"WE HAVE JUST OVER 20 MINUTES UNTIL THE FIRST CLASS STARTS!" Hinata shouted desperately.

"WHAT?" Tanaka asked.

"GRAB ANY SHOES AND LET'S GO," Hinata hurried.

"ALRIGHT! MISS, I WANT THESE, YOU CAN CHARGE MY CARD!" Tanaka said quickly.

"Here you go, I hope you enjoyed the servi..." the clerk was saying while handing over a bag with the shoebox but was interrupted by Tanaka abruptly taking it from her hands and running out along with Hinata and Nishinoya.

"Sorry about that..." said Kageyama, who was the last one to run past.

After running through the entire mall, the four arrived at the parking lot where they saw Tanaka's sister in front of the van waiting for them.

"We need to go quickly or we won't make it in time for first period!" Tanaka said.

"Don't underestimate me! I'll show you what I'm capable of!" Saeko said while starting to increase the van's speed and heading toward the road.

"Please, God!... let me survive this time!" Hinata said while making a prayer sign.

After a quick trip, the four arrived at Karasuno's gate with two minutes to spare.

"Thanks for the help today!" Tanaka said.

"I do what I can to help my little brother!" Saeko said.

"Let's run!" Hinata said, separating from the others to head to his classroom and luckily arriving a few seconds before the teacher.

"Wow! What a journey! Almost didn't make it in time," Hinata thought, sitting in his chair.

"At least Tanaka got to meet that girl again. If I want to be with Shimizu without hurting Tanaka's feelings, I need their relationship to work out this time!" Hinata thought.

After the first period was over, it was break time, and Hinata noticed Tanaka and Nishinoya coming his way.

"What happened, did something happen?" Hinata asked.

"I'm so unlucky..." Tanaka said.

"I still don't understand what you meant by that!" Nishinoya said.

"LOOK AT THIS!" Tanaka said, taking the shoes out of the bag and opening the box to reveal completely pink sneakers.

"HAHAHA," Hinata and Tanaka laughed.

"RYU, LOOKS LIKE YOU CHOSE A REALLY STYLISH ONE!" Nishinoya guffawed.

"Relax, we won't let anyone laugh at you except our members!" Hinata said.

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU GUYS, TOMORROW I'LL ASK MY SISTER TO TAKE ME BACK TO THAT STORE TO EXCHANGE THEM FOR DIFFERENT ONES," Tanaka shouted while running frantically away.
