Chapter 14: Chapter 14
"Mr. Callister, you are truly a wealthy professor." "This is a privilege that other professors cannot enjoy. This is a standalone house."
"The equipment here is extremely complete. This place doesn't look like a wizard's home, but it's incredibly enviable."
Hermione, Ron, and Harry Potter, following Callister into his private villa, couldn't help but exclaim in awe.
In the past few days, they had visited Professor McGonagall's office, Snape's office, and even their own dormitories, but none of them could compare to what they saw in Callister's home.
At the same time, they couldn't help but admire Callister's aristocratic aura. Everywhere he went, he was admired, and it made perfect sense.
Because his life was meticulously planned in every aspect.
"Would you like something to drink? A soda or coffee? If it's a drink, I have cola and soda," Callister asked with a smile.
Upon hearing Callister's words, Hermione, Harry, and Ron immediately became excited, their eyes lighting up, and they exclaimed in unison, "Cola!"
As expected, the young ones still loved drinks.
Callister snapped his fingers, and soon three glass bottles of cola flew out from the refrigerator beside them, floating in front of Hermione and the others. The bottle caps made a soft popping sound, then flew off and landed in the trash can.
On the other side, a coffee cup rose into the air, filled with water and coffee grounds, then began to slowly spin over a hot sand surface. Before long, the coffee boiled and floated gently in front of Callister.
Hermione and the others stared wide-eyed at this scene, their excitement palpable.
"Wow, Professor Callister, you can cast magic silently. That's amazing!" Hermione exclaimed.
"You can do it too, Hermione!" Callister smiled. "Just relax. To learn elemental magic, you need a calm mindset. This is very important."
Callister had decorated his villa with European-style furnishings, creating a noble atmosphere, and many of the devices here were from the Muggle world.
The only regret was that Hogwarts didn't have electricity, so some of the equipment couldn't be used.
Of course, this didn't matter much to Callister.
After chatting for a while to help Harry and the others relax, Callister smiled and said, "Elemental magic is a special type of magic."
"It requires us to sense the elemental energy that exists around us. This is the key to casting magic, and it also means that you will become more proficient in a particular type of magic."
"Elemental magic refers to the seven elements: water, fire, earth, wind, lightning, light, and dark. These elements are all around us, everywhere."
As he spoke, Callister began to gather the various elements around him.
"White light element, blue wind element, red fire element, yellow earth element, blue water element, purple lightning element, black dark element."
Seven types of elemental energy surrounded Callister, forming spheres that floated before Harry and the others, drifting gently with his thoughts.
"Among these seven elements, lightning, light, and dark are relatively rare. Not everyone can sense and cultivate them."
"This also depends on your personal affinity for the elements."
"So, to learn magic, it also depends on your affinity for the magical elements, which will determine which type of magic you are suited to practice."
With this, Callister took out three potions and sent them flying towards the trio. "Drink these, and they will help you better sense the magical elements."
Hermione, Harry, and Ron were already stunned by the eight types of magic elements Callister had displayed. Upon hearing this, their eyes glinted with anticipation as they looked at the potions.
Which type of elemental magic would suit them best?
Harry took one of the potions and said, "I think fire magic would be more destructive."
Hermione also took a potion, thinking, "I like water elements; they're more graceful."
"I like wind elements. I love the feeling of soaring freely," Ron said eagerly.
Listening to their responses, Callister smiled. "Now isn't the time to wish for anything. What you need to do is drink the potion and quietly feel the presence of the elemental energy."
Without hesitation, the three of them drank the potions.
The taste was pleasant, a little sweet, like taking a syrup, though the quantity was so small they barely had a sip.
"Sit cross-legged, knees bent. Meditation is one of the quickest ways to recover magical power and also a method to feel the surrounding elemental energy," Callister instructed them, guiding them into the practice.
Hermione and the others sat down and quickly entered the state of meditation.
Callister glanced at them, then took out his wand. With a gentle wave, the furniture and equipment in the room instantly shrank to miniature sizes, fitting neatly into a box in the corner.
With that, the entire hall was left empty.
At this point, Callister didn't stop. He drew a large circle around each of them, then stood aside, satisfied.
Within just a few minutes, elemental energy waves began to form around Harry, Ron, and Hermione, swirling in the air.
Around Harry, the red fire element and green wind element danced, both intensely vibrant.
Around Hermione, blue water elements swirled, just as she had imagined.
To Ron's surprise, instead of wind, a dense yellow earth element surrounded him.
Though they had already sensed the type of magic they were most compatible with, Callister didn't interfere.
Because this was their moment of growth.
The more elemental energy gathered around them, the more their affinity for the corresponding elements would grow. Additionally, the more energy they accumulated, the more elemental power they would possess.
This process was called the elemental baptism.
By sensing and absorbing elemental energy into their bodies, they were undergoing a process of transformation and enhancement. This could be a guided process or one they could cultivate themselves.
It also represented their foundational strength, though this could be changed through effort over time.
However, having such a foundation from the start was undoubtedly an advantage over others.
The essential components for casting magic were magical power and mental strength—these two were key to performing magic.
Magical power determined how many spells a wizard could cast and how powerful those spells would be.
Mental strength was how a wizard guided and issued commands to release magic.
Thus, magical power and mental strength complemented each other.
Next came the incantations for casting spells.
Therefore, the process of gathering elemental energy now was also an elemental baptism for Harry and his friends.
This process had a great deal to do with the potions Callister had given them.
The potion was called the Elemental Baptism.
