High School Dxd: Word of Creation

Chapter 8: Chapter 7 - A New Home

Hiyama's mansion –

POV: Hiyama –

The next day Azazel showed up in a nice car to help us gather our things to move into the mansion he promised. Of course, I expected this place to be filled to the brim with surveillance cameras, or whatever the magical equivalent is.

We packed our things up quickly, mostly due to Azazel's magic, and headed towards the outskirts of Kuoh. It wasn't long before we arrived, and man was this place huge. My sister and I were used to wealth, after all our parents were wealthy, but this…

This was beyond anything I had ever seen. The entire mansion was walled off giving it a large green space with gardens, ponds, and streams. The mansion itself was made in a Georgian Colonial style, very Fallen Angel in my opinion.

Azazel, pleased with our awestruck faces, brought us inside the front door. There at the entrance stood Raynare, Kalawarner, and Mittelt. They all wore maid outfits, Mittelt had the same as always but not the other two. Azazel was clearly everything he was described as in Biblical lore in terms of his lust. The guy had made Raynare and Kalawarner wear maid's outfits that revealed their enormous cleavage, their skirts were short only reaching the mid-thigh.

I gave up a silent prayer against the temptation after looking away.

They quickly began to head out to the car to gather our things, while Azael took us on a tour.

It had three floors, one of which was a basement. The place easily had many bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, study rooms, a massive kitchen, and two dining rooms. There was even a sauna and bath the size of a pool in the basement.

After we see the whole house Azazel stops to address me and Shiori, "Welp, this is our new home."

"Our?" Shiori questioned with suspicion.

"Yep, ours…" Azazel seemed much too pleased with his deception. "You see, both of you are still in school. Regardless of your potential, your youth makes it necessary for you to have a guardian around."

I piped up, "Not that I believe your excuse, but what about the fallen trio? Couldn't they qualify? And isn't this against what you said about not provoking the devils?" I knew for a fact that he didn't actually care about us not having a guardian around.

Heck, I was 18. I don't even need a guardian anymore. All he was doing was giving himself a convenient reason to stick around to watch us and Issei. Also, a healthy bit of ignoring his duties as the governor-general in favor of throwing them on Shemhazai.

Azazel hummed in feigned thought, "You're probably right. Me staying in the same city as the Satan Lucifer and Leviathan may cause some tension, but it's not like I'll be here all the time or even most of the time. I have other projects that likely require more attention, just consider it as me coming to check up on you two to see your progress."

Finishing up with that conversation we sat in one of the sitting rooms towards the back of the house. It was a glass add-on to the house that made it appear as though you were outside.

Sitting down on one of the sofas I say, "Azazel, I want to know more about my sacred gear. Considering you mentioned it by name I suppose you know a bit about it."

He seemed to be expecting this line of questioning.

He laid down lazily on one of the bigger sofas. "Yeah, I know a bit about it. Logos Reverie, though you likely already know that. It was a sacred gear my father supposedly created after he created Adam and Eve. He was supposed to give it to Adam so that he may further master creation, but as you know he ate the forbidden fruit, curtesy of Satanael."

He took a short pause before saying, "It was the very first sacred gear, before they even had been named sacred gear. What I imagine you would find most important is that it carries the power of a Longinus. Greater than any other except the True Longinus, which is the only one that can match up to Logos Reverie. After Adam and Eve had sinned God locked the sacred gear away, or at least that's what he said he did..." He made a contemplative face after that, so I decided to speak.

"So, I am wielding potentially the most powerful sacred gear ever? A sacred gear that no one else has had, which means I may be a target for literally every faction?" I said with more exasperation at my luck rather than worried. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the worried face of Shiori.

Azazel hummed and nodded in confirmation. "Provided anyone but me actually knows about it. It wouldn't surprise me that Michael is aware that a wielder exists, but not who you are. You stand in a unique position Hiyama; you could perhaps rise to the level of God."

Feeling that I needed to say things I didn't want Shiori to hear yet I ask, "Shiori, could you leave me and Azazel alone? I want to talk to him about something in private." She seemed ready to protest, but after seeing my serious face she walked away.

Once she was out of the ear shot, I spoke up to the intrigued Azazel. "So, what does this mean considering God is dead?"

This clearly caught him off guard. Composing himself, "I guess Logos Reverie gives you a certain amount of information." I nodded in confirmation, then he continues. "God's death or disappearance was a strange occurrence. He supposedly died in the battle against the four original satans, but those who know better can easily tell something else happened. God was several orders of magnitude stronger than all the Satan's combined, the most present theory is that he did something prior to the battle that left him weakened."

I knew from canon that he was weakened due to the sealing of Trihexa, but I kept quiet and let him continue. "Or it could be that he didn't die but instead chose to leave for some reason."

He quickly moved past the speculation and instead began to address my circumstance, "Regardless, having that voice makes you effectively the heir to the Throne of Heaven. Much like Budha you will slowly ascend to godhood, provided you don't prevent yourself from doing so."

"Knowing this why do you not kill me? You seemed prepared to kill Hyoudou for being the Red Dragon Emperor, by your own words I am even more dangerous. So why not kill me while you can?" I spoke.

"A number of reasons. First, I think it will be interesting to see where you go. Second, you may not be as easy to kill as you think. Third, if I did kill you, when you got to Heaven then Michael would know who you were and what I did. He would immediately restart the Great War with the intention to annihilate all the offending parties." He said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Feeling that I received as good an answer as any, I moved the conversation after calling Shiori back in.

"So, you said Shiori may having a talent of her own? What is it?" I asked. Shiori perked up after feeling a bit down at being left out earlier.

"Oh yes, I have been observing your soul; Shiori, you have an extraordinary amount of natural holy element within you. The Holy element being the essence of God's divinity that all his creation's have in small amounts. Angels obviously have on average more, though fallen lose most of it. However, humans can have enormous amounts as well depending on the person." He explained

Shiori asks, "How much do I have exactly, and what does that mean for me being able to get stronger?"

"As for how much you have, I'd say you have High class reserves though most of it can't be effectively used by someone of your current skill. It can grow with training, though humans find it more difficult to use Holy element in magic." Azazel extended his hand facing upward and began to form a ball of fire in his hand. "Eventually you will be able to infuse your magic with Holy power making it particularly effective against devils, vampires, and similar creatures." While he spoke, the flame changed from orange to a pale purple flame.

Looking on in amazement I asked, "I thought infusing Holy element into magic or other abilities took a bloodline."

"It certainly helps to be a part of a bloodline that excels in such, but it isn't impossible for those with exceptional control. For a human it will be even more difficult, but most humans don't have as much as either of you do." Azazel released the ball of flame letting it dissipate.

"So, how will you help us get stronger then?" Shiori asked.

"I have devised a training plan for each of you." He sat up from laying down to look at us more directly. "For you Hiyama, your training will be easier as all you must do is keep using Logos Reverie in whatever way you can. Try to be creative about it, considering your bodies current condition and how it compares to pictures of you just a few weeks ago, it seems you have already. Kalawarner can teach you how to use a melee weapon as well, it will be a good back up just in case you can't use your voice."

Looking over to Shiori he said, "As for you, the very first thing you will need to do is learn magic. Now, luckily for you Raynare happens to know quite a bit about human magic despite never using it. Another thing is because of the amount of Holy Element you have, you are be a natural born holy sword wielder." Saying that Azazel opens what looks like a small black portal, out of which a sword appears.

"This is the holy sword Clarent, once wielded by the betrayer knight Mordred. The blade seeks those who have succumbed to vengeance. Perhaps your heart will calm the raging power withing it…" The blade was the exact model of the Clarent from Fate.

Shiori took the blade with awe saying, "Thank you, Lord Azazel…" She marveled at the blade.

"Thank you, Lord Azazel, for helping us. Shiori and I will remember it. We begin school tomorrow so we should finish preparing." I said with genuine gratitude.

"Of course… I will be leaving the car here for you, you can have one of the fallen be your driver if you want since neither of you ever got your license." Azazel then said his goodbye's before teleporting away leaving us to handle our three knew servants.

Hiyama's Office -

Standing in front of the three fallen in a room I claimed as my study, I scrutinized them with my gaze. I sat at my desk with the windows behind me facing towards the fallen trio, it gave the sense of a powerful patriarch staring down his subordinates. Shiori sat on the side of the desk looking at me strangely, but I ignored it.

The room had an older feel. The desk was Mahagony filled with various writing tools, paper and a desk lamp. The walls to my left were occupied by bookshelves filled with books. The door was at the far corner of that wall. On the right side there was a fireplace in the center of the wall; in front of the fireplace was a rug with two large Ebony chairs that looked more like thrones, and a small table between the two chairs. On the far side of the room there were more bookshelves, that had the lower part of them being drawers

The three fallen stood in front of my desk. I had been thinking about ways to ensure their loyalty.

I knew Azazel from canon wasn't that bad towards Issei, but I'm not Issei so he may prepare something devious in the future. I had the idea of a magic contract, using the Voice to bound two or more individuals to an agreement. To do so I needed it to be done in way that the individual who broke the agreement would have their own power turn against them.

Thus, I decided to use willing compulsion. The idea is if I have the fallen trio willingly allow mind compulsion through, it will become a deeper and easier compulsion. They would have to agree to placing a proverbial sword of Damocles above their head.

Addressing them, "Each of you will now be our maids, I have been notified of each of your talents and will put you to work accordingly." I said with authority.

Looking at the pigtailed maid, "Mittelt, you will be responsible for the cleaning of the house and washing laundry."

Moving to the next, "Kalawarner, your job will be the same, but you will also be responsible for cooking meals. The pantry should always be stocked, and I expect food to be prepared for breakfast and dinner, as well as packed lunch for me and Shiori to take to school. I will spar with the both of you during my melee combat training, so be prepared for that." The two nodded with confused faces.

Raynare would be Shiori's primary teacher so I needed to give her a job that would provide her with the most time away from menial labor. "As for you Raynare, due to the importance of teaching Shiori, I will have you act as the keeper of an underground space I intend to build. It will be a place for me to experiment on my powers, it will also serve as a laboratory. This will allow you to have time to teach Shiori."

She looked confused, then said "Will you not hurt or abuse us? Maybe do you intend to use as sex toys?" At that I was shocked, what the hell was she talking about?

"Why would I do that to anyone?" I asked incredulously.

Mittelt spoke up this time, "We tried to kill you and your sister! Lord Azazel has given you permission to do whatever you want. You could kill us if you wanted…" She trailed off.

"I would never do that to any of you. I will admit, I don't trust Azazel nor any of you. However, I forgive you for any wrongdoings you committed from before this point. I believe Shiori may be more difficult to convince for forgiveness, but you can seek hers over time." We all looked at Shiori to see her suspicious face.

"I will however take precautions to ensure my sister's safety. I will require you to engage in a magical contract with me, it will involve some level of compulsion but not to the same nature as what I've done before. You will have to willingly subject yourself to my terms, they will be designed in such a way that to agree to them would not require any change in your personalities." I stand up from my chair, "But if not, it is best you return to Azazel. I will advocate for mercy for each of you in such a case, I will give you time to decide. You have a week."

With that I order them to leave. Shiori stays for a little while but eventually goes to test her new sword.
