Chapter 5: Assembly of the Watergate Class
Yuma and Obito followed Fugaku into his house. In the living room, a gentle and beautiful black-haired woman greeted them warmly. She served tea with a kind expression, her presence instantly softening Fugaku's serious demeanor.
"This is my wife, Uchiha Mikoto," Fugaku introduced her with a rare smile.
Mikoto bowed slightly in greeting. "Yuma-kun, Obito-kun, thank you for supporting Fugaku," she said politely before excusing herself from the room, leaving the three to their conversation.
Yuma, observing Mikoto, was filled with admiration. This is what they call Yamato Nadeshiko! he thought. A woman who is a true partner and support in life.
Fugaku's voice snapped him out of his reverie. "Let's get to the main matter. This is the gift I wanted to give you both," he said, pointing toward a table where a thick scroll lay.
Yuma's eyes widened slightly. The scroll wasn't as large as the Sealed Scroll that Naruto had famously stolen, but it clearly held significant value.
"This, Patriarch?" Obito asked curiously.
Fugaku nodded. "This scroll contains a portion of the Uchiha clan's Ninjutsu, collected over generations. You may each select two techniques to learn. Of course, if you wish to study more in the future, you'll need to prove yourselves through meritorious deeds."
"Thank you, Patriarch!" Obito exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Yuma's hand. "Let's take a look together!"
Yuma didn't hesitate, nodding solemnly as the two opened the scroll. The variety of techniques inside left him momentarily awed. Unlike the standard Fire Style techniques commonly taught within the clan, this scroll offered a wealth of diverse jutsu.
After careful consideration, Yuma made his decision. For Fire Style, he decided to focus on Uchiha's traditional Ninjutsu, believing the clan's thousand-year-old expertise made these techniques unmatched. For his second choice, he opted for the Uchiha Flame Formation, a Barrier Ninjutsu that intrigued him despite its difficulty.
When he shared his choices, Fugaku raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Yuma-kun, I understand choosing Wind Release techniques since it's one of your chakra natures. But the Uchiha Flame Formation is a challenging barrier technique that requires knowledge of Sealing Jutsu."
Yuma smiled confidently. "Lord Fugaku, you're right, but isn't our team leader, Minato-sensei, married to someone from the Uzumaki clan? I'm sure I can learn the basics of sealing from her."
Fugaku chuckled, shaking his head. "A clever plan. Very well, you have my permission. You both should visit my house frequently over the next few days to study these techniques."
Five Days Later
At a training ground far from the village, Yuma stood by a lake, hands swiftly forming seals. He finished the last "Yin" seal and gathered chakra in his mouth.
"Fire Style: Incinerating Torrent!" he called, spitting out a small fireball that shot toward the lake with incredible speed. The moment the fireball touched the water, it expanded into a massive sea of flames.
But Yuma wasn't finished. As the fire spread, his hands moved to form new seals. "Wind Release: Pressurized Blast!"
A high-pressure wind sphere joined the flames, intensifying the fire into a devastating inferno. The combination of the two jutsu created a shocking explosion of heat and steam, sending waves rippling across the lake and leaving the surrounding area scorched.
Watching from the sidelines, Obito gaped in amazement. "That was incredible! Yuma-kun, you're unbelievably strong!" he exclaimed, momentarily forgetting his own training.
Yuma smiled, slightly out of breath from the heavy chakra expenditure. "Don't worry, Obito-san. Once you awaken your Sharingan, you'll be able to do this easily," he reassured his teammate.
Obito scratched the back of his head sheepishly, glancing at the tree he was practicing climbing. Compared to Yuma's destructive Ninjutsu, his own progress in chakra control—finally mastering tree climbing—felt insignificant. Still, Obito grinned, determined to improve.
Yuma's progress over the past few days had been nothing short of extraordinary. Defeating Uchiha Inari, a well-known clan genius with combat strength nearing Special Jōnin, had significantly boosted his confidence. That battle had been won through strategy and determination, but it also provided a crucial reward: Combat Value Points.
The system rewarded combat points based on the defeated enemy's rank:
Genin: 1 point Chūnin: 10 points Jōnin: 100 points Kage: 1,000 points Super Kage: 10,000 points Six Paths Level: 100,000 points
By defeating Inari, Yuma earned 100 points, which he immediately invested to upgrade his entries:
Fire Style (White) → Fire Style (Green) Wind Release (White) → Wind Release (Green) Uchiha Style (White) → Uchiha Style (Green)
With these upgrades and his relentless practice, the synergy between his abilities—enhanced by the Genius (Gold) and Uchiha Style (Purple) entries—accelerated his growth. In just five days, he advanced his techniques to the Blue level.
Yuma's Current Progress
Yuma's system panel now reflected his rapid growth:
Fire Style (Blue): Mastery of Uchiha's traditional Fire techniques. Wind Release (Blue): Proficient in high-impact Wind techniques, ideal for combining with Fire. Uchiha Style (Blue): Expertise in clan-specific combat strategies and tactics. Genius (Gold): Enhances learning and adaptability in battle. Uchiha Style (Purple): Amplifies synergy between techniques and boosts combat effectiveness.
With these advancements, Yuma's potential was undeniable, even among the Uchiha clan. The future promised even greater challenges—and victories.
