Chapter 206: INIIDF-Chapter 203 Magnetic Force Solution
B.I.B. crossed its arms and looked down at the book on Robin's lap, its glowing, narrow eyes flickering as they landed on the entry for the 'Goro Goro no Mi' (Thunder-Thunder Fruit).
'Birka... that's Enel's hometown,' It thought. With its complete replication of Liam's memories and its instant recall ability, it naturally recognized the place immediately.
Robin, however, showed no particular reaction to the name. Instead, she seemed mildly curious, musing aloud, "I remember Haredas calling this place 'Little Skypiea Weatheria.' Is the 'Skypiea Birka' written here referring to another Skypiea? Are there truly so many Skypieas, each with its own name? Does this mean there's another civilization existing in these skies, thousands of meters above the sea?"
She paused, her thoughts wandering. 'What kind of history might the civilization of Skypiea record? Could it hold...'
Her gaze returned to the text. "Does the note about this location mean that the 'Goro Goro no Mi' is currently in this place called Birka?"
Robin examined the fruit's description:
'"Capable of transforming any part of the user's body into lightning, as well as releasing lightning of any intensity from any part of the body..."'
The entry's structure was unsurprisingly similar to that of the 'Hie Hie no Mi' (Ice-Ice Fruit) and the 'Mera-Mera no Mi' (Flame-Flame Fruit). The simplicity of the text made her wonder if the compiler had been lazy in documenting the abilities.
When Robin flipped further into the 'Logia' section, she came across a particularly intriguing entry.
''Name:'' 'Yami Yami no Mi' (Dark-Dark Fruit) (''Special Logia'')
'"Special," huh...' Robin thought, recalling that Hancock's 'Medusa Mythical Zoan Fruit' was also categorized as a 'Special Zoan'. 'What makes them "special"?'
She read the description:
'"Although it cannot perform Elementalization, it possesses a black hole-like gravitational pull capable of drawing everything in. Additionally, it can nullify the abilities of Devil Fruit users captured by the power of the 'Yami Yami no Mi'."'
Robin blinked, surprised. 'Such an ability exists!'
Though her reaction was subdued— likely due to the fact that she regularly spent time with a certain someone who could freely "borrow" Devil Fruit abilities— she found the fruit's uniqueness fascinating.
'So, the inability to perform Elementalization is what makes the 'Yami Yami no Mi' a Special Logia...' Robin thought. 'But then, what makes Hancock's Medusa Mythical Zoan a Special Zoan?'
Reflecting further, Robin murmured to herself, "Liam's ghost ability doesn't nullify other Devil Fruit powers. But he once mentioned a special mineral called Seastone, which is like a crystallization of the sea and can also suppress the abilities of Devil Fruit users... The 'Yami Yami no Mi''s nullification power feels quite similar to that— but even stronger!"
Based on the description, Robin realized that the 'Yami Yami no Mi''s immense gravitational force seemed almost tailored to complement its ability-nullifying power.
'If Liam had the 'Yami Yami no Mi', it would make "borrowing" other people's Devil Fruits even easier...' Robin thought with amusement. 'But he probably wouldn't be interested in it at all.'
She smiled faintly. Given what she knew of Liam, even if the 'Yami Yami no Mi' were placed right in front of him, he might casually pick it up and play with it for a bit. But to obsess over a specific Devil Fruit? That was unlikely.
Liam's preference was for direct, physical combat. Considering how quickly he adapted to any Devil Fruit and effortlessly developed powerful techniques from scratch, Robin found herself wondering what he might achieve if he ever truly focused on one.
Yet, Liam rarely took such an approach. Even with his frequent use of the 'Gasu Gasu no Mi' (Gas-Gas Fruit), he seemed indifferent about it, treating it as a convenience rather than a necessity.
On the other hand, Liam didn't appear to lack ambition for strength. His carefree demeanor and seemingly indifferent attitude toward Devil Fruits as "external tools" created an intriguing contradiction.
'Is it because of Dr. Vegapunk's research?' Robin speculated. 'Maybe Liam has developed a certain wariness toward Devil Fruits, viewing them as products of unknown technology...?'
She shook her head, dismissing her increasingly abstract thoughts, and continued flipping through the encyclopedia.
The next section covered 'Paramecia' fruits.
Compared to 'Logia', 'Paramecia' fruits were much more diverse and unpredictable. As she browsed the index, Robin noticed something curious: many 'Paramecia' fruits could be grouped into the categories Liam had once mentioned— 'Superhuman Body', 'Super Materials', and 'Superpowers'.
For instance, the Diamond Fruit, Gold-Gold Fruit, Dice-Dice Fruit, and Spring Fruit all seemed to fit into these classifications.
"Hmm?" Robin suddenly flipped back to the 'Logia' section. Something had caught her eye.
"Logia fruits are typically natural elements... but elements connected to human activity or culture, such as weapons or springs, are categorized as Paramecia instead..." Robin murmured, frowning slightly as her fingers traced over the images of the Diamond Fruit and the Gold-Gold Fruit. "But... diamond and gold are natural minerals, aren't they? Why are they classified as Paramecia? Both of these fruits, according to their descriptions, allow the user to transform their body into diamond or gold. Why wouldn't that count as Elementalization...?"
If solid elements didn't qualify as Elementalization, that explanation didn't make sense either. After all, the 'Hie Hie no Mi' (Ice-Ice Fruit) allowed for Elementalization into solid ice, which was still considered a Logia power.
Shaking her head, Robin decided not to dwell on it further. She continued flipping through the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, scanning the myriad fruits and their abilities.
---
'Suke Suke no Mi' (Clear-Clear Fruit)... She couldn't help but feel it was a rather unimpressive ability.
'Mirror-Mirror Fruit'... The user could become like a mirror, mimicking anyone's appearance and reflecting any attack. "If someone weak had this fruit, they could potentially stall the strongest enemy by mirroring their strength... And they can enter a so-called mirror world? What a fairy tale-like ability..."
'Hobi Hobi no Mi' (Toy-Toy Fruit)... Eternal youth, stuck at the appearance of a ten-year-old. The ability's effects... 'forgotten...?' Robin frowned at this peculiar note in the description. Though the fruit's name had a whimsical ring to it, its effects carried a sinister undertone.
'Shiro Shiro no Mi' (Castle-Castle Fruit)...
'Shadow Fruit'... That was the power of 'Gecko Moria'.
'Ghost Fruit'... Robin's finger paused, and she examined the entry carefully:
"Allows the user to create spirits at will. The user themselves can also leave their body as a soul..."
Robin immediately realized this was different from Liam's ghost ability.
For one, Liam had only one ghost. Secondly, he couldn't leave his body as a spirit. Lastly, the description of the 'Ghost Fruit' didn't mention the ability to steal other people's Devil Fruit powers at all.
'Yomi Yomi no Mi' (Revive-Revive Fruit)...
'Love-Love Fruit'... Robin stopped for a moment, a little surprised. For some reason, she felt that this fruit suited Hancock perfectly— and it even had a petrification ability.
'Hormone Fruit'... That was Ivankov's power.
'Paw-Paw Fruit'... Kuma's.
'Push-Push Fruit'... Morley's.
'Inspire Fruit'...
---
Robin flipped another page and was met with a familiar image: the 'Flower-Flower Fruit' ('Hana Hana no Mi').
"Can create petals from thin air and condense them into any body part..."
Her fingers lightly brushed over the illustration of the 'Flower-Flower Fruit' as a faintly complex smile appeared on her lips.
---
"Special Logia, 'Yami Yami no Mi' (Dark-Dark Fruit), cannot Elementalize and seems more like a Paramecia than a Logia..." Robin thought aloud.
"Special Paramecia, 'Mochi-Mochi Fruit', can Elementalize like a Logia, making it seem more like a Logia than a Paramecia..."
"Then, for the Special Zoan 'Medusa Fruit'... could it be that Hancock can't fully transform into an animal? Even at full power, perhaps her hair merely becomes more snake-like?"
Hugging the heavy Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, Robin contemplated as she walked off to return it to the elder scientists.
---
"Are they here?" She wondered aloud.
As Robin passed a room, her 'Hana Hana no Mi' ability detected activity inside. Pushing open the door, she saw the space filled with enormous glass jars, their interiors bubbling with strange liquids.
Inside some of the transparent jars were tangled ropes... They looked like the Wind Knots that Haredas had demonstrated earlier.
Robin's gaze lingered as she recalled how he'd explained the ropes were soaked in a special magnetic solution.
---
B.I.B. phased through the wall, standing silently beside Robin. Its eyes scanned the jars of liquid, and it seemed to find the scene vaguely familiar.
"Oh? It's you, young lady," came the voice of an elderly man with a pointed hat, emerging from amidst the towering jars. Stroking his white beard, he smiled and said, "Well, what do you think? These are the results of our Weatheria weather science!"
