Chapter 93: Only Yimin can have a Master!
Cassius cracked an awkward smile and wryly chuckled. 'I knew it was a good idea to take her with me… I seriously fear what would've happened if this crazy dragon was left without supervision…'
The same point of concern also applied to Bella, the other 100-scored Yandere. However, he was lucky enough to pass her tribulation without any bodily harm. Then again, he wasn't actually aware of her… mental afflictions just yet, so he remained blissfully oblivious to the calamity he had just avoided.
"Anyway," said Cassius as he emptied his mind of all distracting thoughts. "I will be going to the Hunter's Association to sell the Magic Shards of all the monsters I killed, which include those looted from your… previous subordinates…"
He mostly brought his agenda up to gauge the reaction of his dragon companion. Yet, it didn't seem like she was the least bit bothered by this information. She adorably tilted her head, question marks flying off around her.
Pursing her lips, Yimin giggled. "You are looking at Yimin funnily, Master! Does Yimin have something on her face??"
Cassius, distracted by her words, let his eyes swim around her flawless facial features. Her long, babydoll eyelashes slightly quivered along with every cloud of steamy breath escaping her dark purple lips. Below her perfectly sculpted eyelashes and misty reddish-brown eyes was a boundlessly enchanting field of peachy skin. Then there were the luscious locks of gray hair draping over her head, shoulders, and ample snow-white valleys, which molded her already dazzling appearance into something blinding.
Cassius would be lying if he claimed that her charms wouldn't be effective against him if she actually knew how to take advantage of them. Conversely, in her present childish state, it was highly unlikely that she would ever get one over on him.
"Hey, Master!" Yimin shouted into his ears, snapping him out of his daze. "Yimin thinks we are here!"
"Hmm?"
Cassius looked all around, immediately noticing the hundreds of armored Hunters walking in the area outside a massive building. 'How did we get here…?' he questioned, genuinely unaware of the fact that he had zoned out and arrived at the Hunter's Association Branch Building by using Shadow Step.
"...I really am out of it as of late," he murmured before rubbing Yimin's head in a job-well-done sort of way.
Her wagging dragon tail protruded from her cloak, clearly showing how happy she was.
A faint smile shone through Cassius's partially covered face as he took long strides toward the Hunter's Association's front doors. Opening them up, he walked in. As soon as he entered the establishment, it felt like he had entered an entirely different world. Even though the noise outside was abundant and diversity was everywhere, it just didn't have the same feel as the Hunter's Association.
The atmosphere was something one only ever imagined to be possible in another world. Rumors spread abound, cussing and obnoxious laughter rang out, and even though the decor was that of a high-tech establishment, it still exuded the feeling one got from the Adventurers Guilds in Isekai stories.
Listening in on the conversations flying around in the Hunter's Association, Cassius heard some interesting things. Yimin, on the other hand, was too busy sniffing and hugging him to care about other men and women.
"Did you hear of the mysterious personage that secretly entered and cleared three Yellow Gates—one of which suddenly upgraded and became a Low Red-rank Gate!?"
"Pish, posh, that is just a conspiracy theory! There is no actual evidence to support the claim that a powerful Awakened covertly cleared three different High-Rank Gates!"
"Then how do you explain them closing?? Huh, big guy?? Explain it!"
"You idiot! How are you going to explain why someone would clear Gates without vying for any recognition!? There is no one in the world who doesn't yearn for the status and fame that come along with being a High-Rank Awakener!"
"That is… Maybe the mysterious Awakener just likes to keep a low profile…!"
"What ridiculous nonsense!"
Moving away from this particular debate between two E-Rank Hunters, Cassius heard a plethora of other Hunters talking about the same subject. He hadn't expected his subtle and covert interference to produce an impact this large, but it seemed like he had overestimated his subtlety.
A few moments later.
Cassius now stood in front of a counter—the same one that he stopped by the last few times he came to sell Magic Shards and valuable Monster Materials. The receptionist on the other side of the counter looked up, almost immediately recognizing him.
Smiling, she asked, "What have you brought in for us today, oh~ enigmatic traveler?"
Hearing the slight tease in her voice forced a twitching smile on Cassius's face. He hadn't expected her to address him by the casual nickname he had announced himself with in jest. However, when he felt a dark, ominous aura seep out from atop his head, he realized that he better speed things up.
The daggers shooting out of Yimin's eyes were practically on the verge of materializing into tangible objects…
Gently pushing her face out of the way, Cassius politely responded to the receptionist who had grown curious about his new companion. "I have… a lot more than the last few times. It would be best if you take me to a larger area."
"Hmm… Well, that should be fine," replied the moderately pretty receptionist. "Though, if the shards you are bringing this time exceed the C-Rank, I will need to call the manager… Then again, you don't have anything like that, right?"
The silence was palpable.
"...Right…?" the receptionist repeated, growing increasingly nervous.
Cassius, deliberating whether he should disclose the truth or not, ultimately decided to tell her and get it over with. "Yes, I do have Magic Shards and Monster Materials of the B-Rank. Yet, these ones, just like those I brought before, were not obtained by myself. Instead, it was my… Master that gave them to me to do with as I will."
"Your Master!?" Yimin's expression exploded in confusion and displeasure. "Master cannot possibly have any Master! Only Yimin can have a Master, which is Master—!"
