Jitsu -A different story-

Chapter 10: Date

The road wasn't too long, but it was enough for a little talk to have broken out between Kurono and Shizune as they waited to reach their destination. Shizune was still feeling somewhat anxious for many reasons, and when she realized that Kurono stopped the car, she was psyching herself up for everything that would happen.

"We are here." Kurono repeated the same action of helping Shizune out of the car as well as leading the way to the sidewalk of what seemed to be the restaurant where he was going to take her. One of the employees had approached Kurono to offer to take care of his car and he gladly accepted the service, he had turned his attention back to Shizune, but a small laugh came out of him when he saw her.

Shizune seemed to be frozen, in her mind she was imagining that they would go to a possibly normal or slightly elegant restaurant, but the building that was in front of her was the typical place where the famous people she saw on TV ate and the nervousness that she already felt grew even bigger as she quickly turned her gaze to Kurono to search for an explanation.

"K-Kurono-san, are you sure this is the right place?" The small stutter plus the surprise on Shizune's face made Kurono give another smile to lighten the situation as he answered what seemed to be quite obvious.

"I think I wasn't wrong, I'm sure it's the right place. Let's go Shizune-san." Listening to what he had just said and, still with some doubts, Shizune took the arm that Kurono had offered her so that later they both entered through the door of the place and a rather unique sight appeared in front of them.

"Welcome, can you tell me your name…?" The person who was at the entrance seemed to be a somewhat older man. He had asked that question since it was his job to make sure that everything was in order and that the clients who arrived had their respective reservations, but once he looked up and he saw the person in front of him, his relaxed demeanor completely changed. "It's a pleasure to see you here again, Kurosawa-san!"

"Thanks for the welcome as always, I really don't want to be too long, so I would like you to verify the reservation I made if possible."

"Sure, sure, your table is free so you can enjoy a nice dinner! But from what I see, it seems that today you are accompanied by a beautiful lady, it must be a special occasion."

"You can say that."

"Then, please, allow me to escort you to their table."

"I would appreciate it." That exchange of words had ended there. Kurono had acted as if all that was the most normal thing in the world, but if he had seen the expression that Shizune had, he had realized that she did not know what to think.

Before her eyes, Kurono seemed like another person, not in a bad way, but rather that Shizune had just discovered a new facet of him and she was interested in that. She was still surprised by the aesthetics of the place as well as feeling somewhat uneasy since it was her first time being in those kinds of places and she wouldn't really know how to act, but noticing everything Kurono did, she felt that she shouldn't worry too much and just accompany him in everything he had prepared.

As that man said, he had taken them to a table that was on the second floor of the restaurant, the first thing that caught Shizune's attention was that this area seemed to be practically away from all the other tables, besides that it was to one side of what seemed to be the exit to a balcony where the dim light of the moon entered thanks to the fact that there did not seem to be much lighting.

Shizune still didn't say anything as she was still looking at her surroundings with great curiosity, but when she heard Kurono's voice again indicating that she could take a seat, she quickly thanked her before doing so and a short silence was present between them.

"I was wondering… Maybe I exaggerated with all that?"

"Eh?" The question Kurono just asked made Shizune's face turn into one of confusion.

"Maybe you feel uncomfortable being in this place... I should have taken you to a more normal place, haha..." Kurono's original plan was to surprise Shizune, but noticing how she had kept silent all that time, Kurono was beginning to doubt his decision.

"No, it's nothing like that, Kurono-san. I was indeed surprised by all this, but I'm not uncomfortable or anything, it's just..." Hearing that, Kurono breathed a sigh of relief, but it seemed that Shizune still had something to say. "I wouldn't want to do something that ends up embarrassing you, I'm not very refined." That was when Kurono understood the reason for her attitude, but it seemed that Shizune was simply thinking too much.

"It's a relief to hear that, I thought I had ruined our date… But about that, it doesn't really matter, I don't like to act 'refined' either, that's one of the reasons why I always prefer to eat away from the crowd, so don't worry about it, Shizune-san, the important thing is that you enjoy dinner and have fun. Don't pay attention to what someone else might think." Kurono had said that with total certainty and Shizune felt exactly that to the point which she realized was true. She was there to enjoy her date with Kurono, so there was no need to think about anything else, and the smile that appeared on her face in addition to the pleasant atmosphere that was forming was a sign that all her doubts had finally left her.

The night continued its course in addition to the happy situation, once both could get comfortable they began to talk without any impediment until the waiter arrived to ask for their orders, Kurono was in charge of ordering for both since Shizune did not know what to choose, the dishes did not take long to arrive and be served, Kurono and Shizune saw the steaming plate in front of them that was made up of some cuts of meat accompanied by vegetables among other things and it did not take long for them to start tasting it.

Shizune's praise regarding the food did not take long to reach Kurono's ears which caused some laughter to come out of him as he also enjoyed the taste in his mouth and the waiter returned to the table with a bottle of wine in his hands to then pour some into the glasses that were in the table.

That moment was present for as long as they continued to enjoy dinner, Shizune couldn't help but talk about how amazing the place was as well as thank Kurono for bringing her while the same pleasant chat arose between them, and the food on their plates was getting smaller.

"And basically, I've lived my whole life away from the city."

"I had imagined it, you really don't get the feeling of being someone from the city, Shizune-san."

"Well, I'm sorry about that." The laugh that could be heard from both after their brief words was enough to fill the place without disturbing the other customers. They had enjoyed everything the place had to offer and were still at the same table after having finished all the food and being satisfied.

"Don't get me wrong, that's one of the things that attracts me to you."

"I-I see..." Shizune couldn't understand how Kurono could speak his mind without any problem and she couldn't help but avert her gaze a little to hide the slight blush on her face as she remembered everything that had happened up until that moment.

She was really having fun, she just needed Kurono to be with her to make her feel that way, and she could tell that he had never taken his eyes off her, which made her thank her dear daughter in her mind for the great job she did.

"I think it's time to go."

"Go?" The words that came out of Kurono confused Shizune a bit, it was true that they had already had a good time in the restaurant, but she felt that it was too early to end the date.

"I don't mean that our date is over. I have prepared something else besides this, but we will have to go for it."

"Oh, I understand."

"Haha, did you feel a little disappointed?"

"Well... I'll let you think that." With those words that failed to fool Kurono, their time in the restaurant seemed to have come to an end as a new surprise awaited Shizune.
