Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Asgard
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters.
"Han Yu has left, using the Green Lantern ring to fly. Where could he be heading?"
Nick Fury and the Avengers were gathered to discuss Han Yu's movements. After Natasha's failed operation, they had formed a special team dedicated to monitoring him.
Though Han Yu had committed no crimes and had even helped them, his immense power made it hard for them to fully trust him. Keeping an eye on his movements was their only choice.
Han Yu was well aware that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were monitoring him. As long as they didn't interfere with his life, he couldn't be bothered to confront them—it wasn't worth escalating.
Captain America spoke up, "We've received reports of strange energy fluctuations in Greenwich, England. Also, Thor has been spotted there."
"Thor's back?" someone asked. "After the Battle of New York, he returned to Asgard. What could have happened there to bring him back?"
"We're not sure," Captain America replied. "But one thing's certain: Han Yu's sudden departure is likely connected to Thor. Using the Green Lantern ring at supersonic speeds suggests urgency."
Tony Stark added, "I've studied the Green Lantern ring. It has exceptional properties, including supersonic flight. Han Yu wouldn't use it unless it was absolutely necessary."
Nick Fury nodded. "If Thor is involved, we should stay out of it for now. Conflicts at their level are beyond our ability to intervene."
The Avengers agreed unanimously.
While flying, Han Yu was constructing a special energy net using the Green Lantern ring. The Reality Stone was a unique gem—it directly absorbed the life force of its host and converted it into energy.
Han Yu had no intention of letting something inside him constantly drain his life force, even if he was practically immortal.
In less than ten minutes, he arrived in Greenwich, England. Following the direction provided by the Mind Stone, he landed near an abandoned factory, just in time to see the light of the Bifrost descending from the sky.
"They're leaving already? That was fast," Han Yu murmured.
He quickly pieced together the timeline: the Reality Stone was already inside Jane Foster, and Thor was taking her to Asgard to seek a cure.
Without hesitation, Han Yu leaped into the light of the Bifrost, following them through the portal.
On the other side, Thor and Jane appeared in the Bifrost chamber. The sudden appearance of a third person startled Heimdall, the guardian of the bridge.
Thor turned, his expression a mix of shock and confusion. "Han? What are you doing here?!"
Han Yu scratched his head awkwardly. Initially, he had planned to sneak away unnoticed as soon as they emerged from the Bifrost. However, the portal's gravitational pull had forcibly deposited him alongside Thor and Jane.
"Uh… because of her," Han Yu said, nodding towards Jane.
Thor immediately became defensive, shielding Jane behind him. Even he couldn't underestimate Han Yu's power, especially since he hadn't noticed Han Yu following them at all.
Heimdall's expression was equally serious. An unauthorized entry into Asgard was practically an act of invasion. Gripping the massive sword that controlled the Bifrost, forged from Uru metal, Heimdall prepared himself.
But then Heimdall's eyes widened in surprise. "It's you? How did you end up here?"
Thor was puzzled. "You know him? How do you know him?"
Han Yu was equally curious about Heimdall's reaction.
Heimdall explained, "My eyes can see across the Nine Realms, including everything that happens on Earth. But there is one place—a single spot on Earth—that remains a blind spot to me. No matter how hard I try, I cannot see into it."
He was referring to Han Yu's general store.
Han Yu narrowed his eyes slightly. He wasn't surprised; the store's mystical properties likely included defenses against mental surveillance and prying eyes.
Facing someone like Han Yu, Heimdall did not dare to let his guard down and asked cautiously, "What are you doing here?"
Han Yu shrugged casually and said, "Helping out, what else? The energy inside her body is from the Reality Stone, originally called the 'Aether Particle.'"
"The Aether Particle? Inside her? How is that possible? It was supposed to be permanently sealed deep underground," Heimdall said, his face showing a rare trace of shock.
Heimdall was older than Thor and had knowledge of ancient legends. The last recorded appearance of the Reality Stone was countless ages ago, during the reign of Odin's father.
That stone was supposed to have been hidden deep underground, sealed away forever. How could it have ended up inside a mortal woman?
Thor was equally stunned. He had read about the Aether Particle in ancient tomes but never imagined it would resurface—let alone inside his ex-girlfriend.
Heimdall murmured thoughtfully, "Could it be that the reason I couldn't see her before was because she had fallen into the space where the Aether Particle was sealed?"
Han Yu nodded in agreement.
"That explains it," Heimdall sighed. His all-seeing eyes could observe events across the Nine Realms, a responsibility he had carried tirelessly for years. Yet, there had been a moment when Jane disappeared from his sight—a first in his long life.
It made sense now. The Aether Particle's chaotic energy was enough to obscure even his vision.
Suddenly, Heimdall tensed and said, "King Odin is approaching."
"Father?" Thor exclaimed.
From the end of the Bifrost Bridge, a group of figures approached rapidly. Leading them was a man clad in golden armor—Odin, the All-Father, King of Asgard.
"I've heard rumors of a powerful god emerging on Earth. Seeing you in person, I can confirm the stories are true," Odin said.
For once, the stern and imposing king offered a rare smile. He stepped forward and extended his hand in greeting.
Han Yu smiled back and shook Odin's hand.
However, the moment their hands met, Han Yu felt a terrifying force emanate from Odin's grip—a power capable of shattering mountains and splitting oceans.
"Is this a test, or are you trying to intimidate me?" Han Yu thought, his lips curling into a faint smirk.
He responded with even greater strength, matching Odin's grip with his own.
For a brief moment, an overwhelming aura erupted from the two of them, pushing Thor and the others back slightly.
"He's evenly matched with Father?" Thor whispered in disbelief.
Thor immediately understood what was happening. Odin was testing Han Yu, probing his strength. But what shocked Thor most was that Han Yu not only withstood Odin's test but also pushed back with even greater force.
The power clash was undeniable, and its implications left everyone in stunned silence.
