Chapter 44: Chapter 44: The Reality Stone

A flicker of surprise crossed Odin's eyes. The young man before him possessed remarkable strength—no wonder he dared to come directly to Asgard.

Looking into the young man's clear eyes, Odin noticed a rare gaze—calm yet not indifferent, gentle even in the face of the King of Asgard. Han Yu displayed no nervousness or discomfort, instead radiating a composed and impressive aura.

"Truly, heroes emerge from youth. Excellent, excellent!"

Odin chuckled and lightly patted Han Yu's shoulder. Strength without arrogance—if only Thor possessed such a demeanor, he would have long become King of Asgard.

"You flatter me, Lord Odin. Achieving the unification of the Nine Realms is no ordinary feat."

Han Yu smiled. Compliments are universally appreciated, but his tone carried no pretense—he spoke naturally, as though Odin were merely an ordinary elder before him.

Odin's impression of Han Yu improved even more, and he gave Han Yu's shoulder another approving pat.

At that moment, Thor seemed to understand Loki's perspective. Was this how Loki felt whenever Thor shared such moments with their father? Seeing Odin show such warmth toward an Earthling stirred a peculiar discomfort in Thor's chest.

"Thor, have I not said before that Midgardians are not to be brought to Asgard?"

Odin squinted slightly at Thor, referring not only to Han Yu but also to Jane.

Though Odin didn't dislike Han Yu, Asgard was not a place that just anyone could visit.

Thor quickly explained, "Father, Jane's condition is unusual. I brought her here to seek a cure."

Odin replied coldly, "Hmph. Earth has people called 'doctors.' If she's unwell, why not seek their help? Why bring her to Asgard?"

As Thor struggled to respond, Han Yu stepped forward and said calmly, "Lord Odin, Miss Jane's condition isn't an ordinary illness. Her body contains Aether particles."

The term 'Aether particles' was far more familiar to Odin than 'Reality Stone.' Upon hearing this, his expression changed visibly. In swift strides, he approached Jane.

"Pardon me for the intrusion."

Odin took Jane's hand gently, and divine energy flowed from his palm into her arm. The others watched as a dark red energy writhed beneath Jane's skin.

"There's no mistake—this is indeed the Aether. How did you come into contact with it?"

After the examination, Odin released Jane's hand and asked her directly.

"It happened like this: A friend of mine discovered an area with spatial anomalies. When I accompanied her to investigate, we noticed strange gravitational distortions. Objects thrown in one place would reappear in another."

"As I walked, I unknowingly entered a dark space. There stood a massive, vertically aligned stone pillar, and within it, dark red particles swirled. I touched them out of curiosity, and they entered my body."

Han Yu nodded thoughtfully. These details matched his memory—clearly, the storyline hadn't diverged much. Unable to suppress his curiosity, he blurted out, "Why was something like this left on Earth? Is Earth some kind of cosmic vault? Why does everything dangerous end up there?"

Ultron had once posed the same question to Han Yu, and he had often wondered about it himself. Now, he directed the question to Odin.

Odin sighed deeply and said, "When Asgard acquired the Aether particles, Earth was still a primitive world. How could we have predicted events unfolding like this in the future?"

Han Yu nodded slightly. It was a reasonable explanation. Earth, though 4.6 billion years old, had only been dominated by humans for a few thousand years. Back then, Earth was indeed a wild and untamed place.

The acquisition of the Aether particles by Asgard must have happened at least ten thousand years ago. Who could have possibly anticipated what would happen millennia later?

"Alright, follow me. This isn't the place for such discussions."

Since Odin realized that their visit was not without reason, he refrained from further reproach and led Han Yu and the others towards Asgard's main city.

Looking at the magnificent golden architecture, Han Yu couldn't help but reveal a hint of amazement. His previous impression of Asgard was limited to scenes from movies.

However, the movies hadn't fully captured the grandeur of this sacred city. Now, seeing it in person, even Han Yu's composed demeanor couldn't stop him from occasionally glancing at the surrounding buildings.

Jane was similarly captivated. She and Han Yu, like two curious children, eagerly looked here and there. Despite being strangers, their shared wonder at seeing Asgard for the first time gave them common ground for conversation.

Facing this man of average appearance but increasingly appealing charm, Jane felt an inexplicable sensation. It wasn't exactly love, but it caused a subtle stir in her heart, making her unwilling to look away from him.

"Jane, come take a look at this! This entire building is suspended above the ground!"

Han Yu's voice snapped Jane out of her daze, and she quickly jogged over to him.

This scene didn't sit well with Thor. Why was his girlfriend getting so close to another man?

Although they hadn't officially defined their relationship and had only shared a kiss, it was clear they had mutual affection, and being together seemed inevitable.

"This Earthling isn't just powerful but also quite charismatic. You'd better put in some effort," Odin said knowingly as he patted Thor's shoulder before walking ahead.

The group entered the grand hall of Asgard's palace and found a quieter place for conversation. Jane couldn't help but ask Odin, "Your Majesty Odin, is there any way to remove the Aether particles from my body?"

When she had earlier seen the shock on Odin's and Heimdall's faces upon realizing she had the Reality Stone within her, Jane had been terrified. If such powerful figures were unsettled by what was inside her, it was clearly not something easy to resolve.

Though Jane hadn't felt worried before, their reactions had now made her genuinely afraid.

Odin pondered for a moment before slowly shaking his head.

"From what I know, there is no way to remove the Aether particles from a host."

Boom.

Jane felt dizzy. If even the King of Asgard didn't know a solution, what was she supposed to do?

The strange and unpredictable force inside her body filled her with dread. What if one day it turned her into a monster?

"Don't be afraid. As long as I'm here, I will find a way to resolve this!" Thor declared confidently.

But despite his firm words, he felt uncertain deep down. If even his father couldn't find a solution, how could he guarantee success?

As Thor reached out to comfort Jane, Odin's stern voice suddenly rang out.

"Don't touch her!"
