Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 213: C147(2)

During this time, Guy was tasked with collecting high-level magical materials for him. Kain had even asked Guy to search for rare magical creatures like Nightmares, but such creatures—legendary even centuries ago—were now almost impossible to find.

Even Newt Scamander, renowned magizoologist, had seen many rare creatures but had never encountered a Nightmare.

To aid in the search, Kain offered an exorbitant amount of Galleons, hoping to extract the genes of this mythical creature.

But he was prepared for the possibility that the Nightmares were extinct and that it simply wasn't meant to be.

"Professor pent, my father has signed the magical contract. The Delacour family has decided to follow you unconditionally," Fleur Delacour said, swallowing the last bite of her meal.

Her voice was slightly strained, but she conveyed the family's decision with sincerity.

After the news of Voldemort's defeat and capture by Kain spread to the French magical world, the Delacour family made an immediate decision.

In the wizarding world, following the strong has always been a prevailing truth, as seen with figures like Grindelwald, Dumbledore, and even Voldemort. They all had loyal followers.

Now, the next most powerful wizard in the European magical world was undoubtedly Kain pent. For the Delacour family, aligning with him required no hesitation—especially since Kain controlled a near-monopoly potion material store.

Unlike Voldemort, who ruled his followers through fear, Kain inspired loyalty by sharing benefits.

"Professor, I plan to come to the British magical world for an internship during the summer vacation. Do you have any recommendations?" Fleur Delacour asked with a hint of obsequiousness in her voice.

The Veela blood in her body had been developed further with Kain's guidance, making her charm far more potent than before.

Kain couldn't help but notice her familiar mannerisms, though he found nothing inappropriate about them.

"Guy keeps complaining that no one manages the potion shop," Kain replied. "If you're looking to gain some experience, you could manage it. In the future, it will expand from the UK to all of Europe..."

He trailed off, a thought crossing his mind. 'Could the Veela bloodline also provide a unique kind of control over places and people?' The potential made Kain marvel at the mysteries of magical creature bloodlines.

A short while later, Fleur left the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office.

Despite the unexpected turn of events during the Triwizard Tournament, the students of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons remained at Hogwarts for a time.

Although the competition did not produce a champion, the schools continued their cultural exchange.

However, many classes were suspended. Only Charms, Herbology, and Transfiguration remained in session.

While some students expressed a desire for more Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons, Kain had already conducted the final exam for his course before the third task. With that, the subject had officially concluded for the semester.

As Kain awaited Guy's progress in collecting advanced magical materials, he turned his attention to studying the Hogwarts castle itself.

The founders had clearly used profound alchemy to construct the castle, imbuing it with a sort of sentience that fascinated Kain.

Inspired, Kain began envisioning similar transformations for his Marvel world home. He had already purchased nearly half the beachfront in a wealthy area, and the original villa was slated for demolition and reconstruction.

No matter how well-designed a Muggle home might be, it couldn't compare to an alchemical castle.

Though ancient-style castles might stand out too much, Kain planned to create a modern-style structure infused with magical enhancements.

The Undetectable Extension Charm was particularly challenging to maintain over long periods without proper foundational work, but Kain believed he could incorporate it into his new home's design.

By the end of the semester, Kain had thoroughly explored Hogwarts from top to bottom, memorizing its internal structures and alchemical formulas.

Secret passageways, the Undetectable Extension Charm, and other alchemical constructs provided him with invaluable inspiration.

Returning to his office one afternoon, Kain was surprised to see a familiar black cat he hadn't encountered in some time.

He had previously suspected it was an Animagus and had discreetly asked a few students to confirm his guess.

Picking up the black cat and bringing it into his office, Kain set it down and spoke calmly.

"Hermione, let's change back."

After Kain finished speaking, the black cat's eyes flashed with surprise and confusion, but it obediently transformed back into Hermione.

Lowering her head slightly, she asked, "Godfather, how did you figure it out?"

Recognizing an Animagus isn't easy. For example, Peter Pettigrew had managed to live undetected at the Weasleys' home for over ten years.

Even Arthur and Molly, who were far from weak—stronger, in fact, than many Aurors—had failed to recognize him.

If not for Sirius Black, who knew Pettigrew well, he could have remained hidden for years longer.

Kain smiled knowingly. "Next time, remember to learn the habits of cats. Dried fish, fish meat, ham… You don't eat anything a real cat would love. If I hadn't tested it on Mrs. Norris first, I might've thought what I bought was fake. And then you go and turn into a cat to play tricks on your godfather."

Hermione's face went pale as panic set in at his final comment.

There were two things she feared most in the world:

First, hearing Professor McGonagall tell her she had failed her grades.

Second, disappointing Kain.

This fear had been painfully evident earlier in the school year, particularly when she had faced a Boggart.

"Godfather, I…" she stammered.

"Skip class and come with me," Kain interrupted, smiling warmly. "I'm planning to buy a few houses in Hogsmeade Village. When it's ready, you can bring Mr. and Mrs. Granger to the wizarding world for a visit. They'll have a nice place to stay."

Hermione's anxiety faded, replaced by a grin. "Of course, my eyesight is excellent, Godfather!" she said enthusiastically.

"Just make sure Phil and Isaac accompany you when the time comes," Kain added.

Hermione nodded eagerly, her spirits lifted.
