Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Sasuke the Leo, Naruto the Virgo
Heaven rewards diligence, yet even though Naruto had the system to assist him, he refused to rely on it for an easy life.
Although items obtained through the system were directly ingrained into his mind and body, after two encounters with Sasuke, Naruto realized that the unpredictable dynamics of real combat couldn't be fully addressed through system-granted insights.
Combat strategy and adaptability were skills he had to hone through his own dedicated training.
At 4:40 in the morning, the streets of Konoha were almost deserted.
Naruto sprinted toward a secluded grove. After steadying his rapid breathing, he sat cross-legged and began meditating to refine his chakra.
About twenty minutes later, Naruto opened his eyes and slowly stood up.
He proceeded to train with clear objectives in mind: starting with throwing techniques, then transitioning to kunai close-combat assassination methods, and finally physical combat drills.
As for ninjutsu, his limited chakra reserves and lack of basic Wind Release techniques left him without the resources or formal channels to learn them. To avoid unnecessary complications, he decided to focus on building a solid foundation for now.
Fully immersed in training, Naruto worked up a sweat, his white T-shirt long since drenched.
The intensity of his regimen brought him a deep sense of fulfillment.
Soon, an hour and a half of training came to an end.
Dragging his tired body, Naruto gathered the shuriken embedded in the tree. Just as he turned around, he spotted a familiar figure.
"Ha, didn't I tell you to come at 4:30?" Naruto asked, exasperated as he looked at the twin-tailed girl, Sasuke. "You're showing up now that I'm done—did you oversleep?"
Sasuke snorted. "I've already finished my training."
"Huh? That fast?" Naruto slung his canvas bag over his shoulder and approached Sasuke. "Then why are you here looking for me?"
"Hmph, we agreed to cooperate, didn't we? Right now, I'm… your temporary girlfriend, am I not?" Sasuke deliberately emphasized the word "temporary."
Seeing Sasuke's flushed face so early in the morning was quite the sight. Naruto grinned and stepped forward, grabbing Sasuke's small hand. "Wow, so obedient? So sweet?"
"Hmph, not at all." Sasuke pouted, turning her head to the side as if embarrassed. "I just want to become stronger through you, that's all."
"Uh-huh…"
Seeing her reaction, Naruto smiled and led her toward his house.
"Alright then, since you're cooperating so well, I'll teach you a training method right now."
Hearing this, Sasuke's blush faded as she looked at Naruto seriously. "What training method?"
"This…"
Naruto raised his right hand, curling four fingers inward and leaving his middle finger extended. Then, he rapidly flicked the middle finger up and down at a speed so fast it seemed like an illusion.
"What… kind of training method is this?"
Although Sasuke was young and didn't fully understand, her instincts told her this gesture was vile and indecent.
Seeing Sasuke's look of disdain, Naruto shrugged. "Don't believe me? Fine, forget it."
"What's the purpose of practicing such finger movements?" Sasuke pressed, still curious.
"In most ninja battles, the opening exchanges often involve shuriken probing, followed by quick advances or rapid hand seals to unleash ninjutsu. The goal is to suppress the enemy early and gain an advantage."
"That makes sense."
Sasuke was taken aback. She hadn't expected Naruto's combat analysis to be sharper than her own. If not for her sister Itachi's earlier guidance, Sasuke wouldn't have figured this out on her own.
"When there's no external interference, how many hand seals can you perform in one second?" Naruto asked, a confident smile on his face.
Sasuke froze for a moment before holding her breath and focusing.
Naruto watched her with interest. He had already seen Sasuke's hand seal speed in battle.
Swish, swish, swish…
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Sasuke's hand seal speed was dazzling for a seven-year-old, easily surpassing her peers. In non-combat situations, performing three seals per second was remarkable.
"Three seals per second," Sasuke said, looking at Naruto.
"Impressive speed."
Hearing his praise, Sasuke's face showed a hint of pride.
"But I've heard your sister can perform seven seals per second in combat. How do you compare to that?"
At seven years old, Sasuke's training mainly consisted of basic throwing techniques and taijutsu, even under Itachi's tutelage before the Uchiha massacre. She had never witnessed her sister's hand seal speed firsthand.
Hearing Naruto's words, Sasuke's expression darkened.
"Seven seals per second… in combat?" Sasuke's eyes filled with frustration. "Naruto, how do you know this? Even as her sister, I didn't know."
Naruto shrugged. "How I know isn't important. Sasuke, it's best you don't ask. What I'm telling you is the truth. We'll see for ourselves when we're older."
With that, Naruto turned and continued walking.
Sasuke hesitated but eventually followed. "I believe you…"
Her voice carried a hint of apology.
Hearing Sasuke's rare admission, Naruto found it amusing.
It seemed that in this version of the Naruto timeline, his actions had subtly altered Sasuke's personality, making her less rigid and extreme compared to the original.
"Trust me, and I'll help you achieve your goals," Naruto said confidently.
"Hmph, you're younger than me, yet you keep calling yourself my senior. Hmph."
Sasuke pouted, her words dripping with tsundere charm.
Curious, Naruto asked, "By the way, Sasuke, when's your birthday?"
"July 30," she replied without hesitation.
"July 30… That should make you a Leo, right?"
Naruto mentally pulled up the system's search bar and typed, "Leo girls' personality traits."
The search results appeared instantly, requiring 100 negative emotion points for redemption.
"Redeem."
Ding! Redemption complete.
Ding! Data as follows:
(Leo girls exude an air of pride and icy regality. This isn't pretense but an innate charisma. Deep down, their seemingly strong and dominant demeanor hides a softer, more vulnerable heart…)
Reading the analysis, Naruto compared it to Sasuke's personality, particularly her attachment to Itachi. The description fit surprisingly well.
As the two walked side by side in silence, Sasuke broke the quiet. "What about you? When's your birthday?"
"August 25."
Naruto instinctively blurted out his birthday.
However, as the date "August 25th" left his lips, he froze.
In the original timeline, Kushina, while pregnant, had met Mikoto, who was holding a one-month-old Sasuke. Based on this timeline, Naruto should have been born under the Virgo zodiac, spanning from August 25th to September 24th.
And coincidentally, in his previous life, his birthday had also been August 25th—a Virgo.
Naruto silently marveled at the coincidence.
"Wow," he thought to himself, "it seems like my transmigration wasn't entirely random. My birthdate aligns perfectly with Naruto's zodiac and timeline!"
