Shanuo's little cabin wasn't very large. Although it had a small kitchen, the ventilation was poor, so unless he was preparing something simple, he usually cooked outside by setting up a stove.

Under the eager gazes of the three little ones, shanuo sighed, gently rolled up his sleeves, and walked over to the wooden table. He picked up the cutting board and laid it flat.

Fortunately, the variety of ingredients in the pirate world was abundant compared to his past life, and many common ingredients were quite cheap. For shanuo, gathering the seasoning for making crawfish was an easy task.

The sharp kitchen knife was held firmly in his hand, and with a slight motion of his wrist, the blade shimmered like frost and snow, slicing swiftly like a gust of wind.

In the flash of cold light, the garlic, ginger, and onions were chopped finely, the peppers were cut into pieces, and in almost no time, everything was done. Following this, shanuo took the right amount of bay leaves, star anise, and cinnamon, washed them, and set them aside.

The pan had already heated up. Shanuo poured out the remaining water, wiped the cast iron skillet dry, and then poured in golden peanut oil. When it was about 30% hot, he added the finely chopped garlic, ginger, and onions, along with the chili pieces, to the pan to release their aroma.

Sizzle!

Hot oil bubbled, and smoke rose from the pan, with scalding oil droplets splattering everywhere. It looked extremely dangerous, yet shanuo paid no mind, still calmly watching. When a slightly pungent aroma wafted up from the pan, he took the freshly washed crawfish and poured them in.

After stir-frying for a while, as the crawfish curled slightly and gradually took on the color of the sauce, shanuo's wrist shook slightly, and the bottles and jars lined up on the table fell into his hands one by one.

He added sake, soy sauce, and white sugar, pouring them into the hot oil, creating a storm of flavors. The broth in the pan slowly thickened, and after waiting for a moment, shanuo evenly sprinkled the bay leaves and star anise, then poured in the hot water he'd prepared earlier, covering the pot with a lid.

Like flowing clouds and water, shanuo completed everything and then let out a soft breath. He took two steps back, leaned against the small cabin, and silently gazed at the blue sky.

"Wow! Amazing!"

"Shanuo, your movements are so smooth, you're so cool!"

"His cooking skills are really as legendary as they say."

The three little ones were clearly stunned by the scene, and they immediately began to applaud excitedly. Even Roy, with his large eyes, seemed to have bright shining stars of longing in them.

Upon hearing these words, shanuo couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

In his past life, he couldn't stand the food at the cafeteria and often tried cooking on his own. After all these years of practice, winning over the stomachs of these little guys was no challenge at all.

"However…"

He slightly closed his eyes, a trace of contemplation flashing across his face.

Earlier that morning, when he left the port and returned home, worried about the two men who had come down from the pirate ship, he didn't practice swordsmanship but instead went to the shops in Orange Town early to buy some ingredients and seasonings. Secretly, he hoped to get some information about the whereabouts of those two.

To his surprise, it seemed that many people in the town already knew about the two strange visitors. Shanuo casually mentioned it to the aunt selling soy sauce, and this kind and amiable lady suddenly started chatting with him for quite a while. In the end, she almost forgot to collect the soy sauce money, only realizing it after shanuo reminded her.

According to the limited information she had, the man who had come to the island with a little boy seemed to be an old friend of the town's mayor. They had once sailed the seas together when they were younger. The reason the man came to Andrik Island this time was reportedly to visit his old friend. As soon as he entered Orange Town, he went to the mayor's house and hadn't been heard from since.

With that, shanuo let go of his guard. However, his curiosity was piqued. After all, from what he knew, the mayor of Orange Town, the elderly Mr. Ruer, was always smiling and friendly. How could he be old friends with a man possibly connected to a pirate crew?

Who exactly was the man in the white cloak?

"This kid came to wait at my place early in the morning. I wonder if he saw his old man entertaining guests…"

Looking at Anderson, who wore glasses and appeared mature beyond his years, shanuo sighed as he rubbed his nose. Though Anderson usually seemed more composed than Roy and Bill, today, he too was completely captivated by the crawfish. If it weren't for that, shanuo could have gotten some information from him.

Buzz… buzz…

At that moment, the lid of the pot trembled slightly, making a muffled sound, pulling shanuo's attention back to the task at hand. He quickly set aside his thoughts, hurried over to the large pot, and carefully lifted the hot lid using a cloth to protect his hand.

Whoosh…

The world within and outside the pot seemed to merge at that moment, as if a new chapter had been unlocked. The crawfish, with bay leaves and star anise hidden among them, appeared before shanuo's eyes, their color a brilliant red.

Drizzled with fragrant oil and rich broth, an irresistible spicy aroma wafted up, entering his senses and overwhelming any resistance. One glance was enough to make one's mouth water uncontrollably.

"Wow, wow, wow! It's done!"

"Is it really this fragrant? This is borderline criminal. It's just so tempting!"

"I don't care, I'm eating until it's all gone!"

The long-awaited crawfish was finally served. The three little boys couldn't hold back any longer, leaping from their stools and rushing to the table. They reached out their little hands, seemingly indifferent to whether they were hot, eager to snatch the delicious dish.

"You little rascals, have you washed your hands? Go wash them first, then come back!"

Before they could get close, a cloth flew down from above and "smacked" each of their dirty hands.

"Ah, that hurts!"

Hearing shanuo shout, the three boys immediately retracted their hands, their faces long, but they had no choice but to comply. They swallowed their saliva while looking at the crawfish just within reach and dashed toward the kitchen to wash up.

"Really…"

Watching the boys' backs as they disappeared through the door, shanuo shook his head helplessly. He returned to the table and began to tidy up.

Just then, a large shadow suddenly covered the light in front of him, and a rough yet warm elderly voice, as if coming from very close, rang out in his ear:

"Mm, this crawfish is really good. Young man with the black hair, would you allow this old man to sit down and try some?"

In the next moment, a wooden prosthetic foot stepped forward, and the sight of it entered shanuo's view.
