The area of the mysterious cave was quite small.
After a thorough search, Sato quickly found the treasure Elsa and AJ had discovered.
In a small alcove surrounded by high-quality Blue Water Stones, 18 Water Stones of varying sizes were quietly "growing."
A dreamy blue light radiated from the alcove, bathing the Water Stones in a deep aquatic hue.
The alcove also seemed to be a natural spring, with a clear stream emitting a faint blue glow trickling out of it.
This spring was clearly not ordinary. The water contained pure Water-type energy, pooling into a small pond at the bottom of the alcove. The pond emitted the same faint blue glow, forming a mesmerizing sight.
"An entire nest of Water Stones, huh? Nature really is a master craftsman. The structure of this alcove makes it a perfect energy convergence point. Even as an ordinary human, I can feel the overwhelming Water-type energy emanating from it," Sato thought, marveling at the sight before him.
The credit for locating the Water Stones so quickly belonged largely to his Marshtomp, a Water-type Pokémon, who was now happily soaking in the pond.
The energy-infused water seemed to soothe him immensely.
Before long, Marshtomp's skin began to emit a faint blue glow, and it was as if all fatigue and injuries vanished.
He looked completely rejuvenated, brimming with vitality.
"It seems this pond's water has healing properties. Let's test it out," Sato thought as he observed Marshtomp's transformation.
He promptly placed his injured Pokémon, Golbat and Bellossom, into the pond.
The next moment, a miraculous scene unfolded.
As soon as Golbat and Bellossom entered the water, their bodies glowed with a blue light, and their injuries began healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Soon enough, both Pokémon regained consciousness, fully healed.
However, during the healing process, the blue glow of the pond water quickly dimmed, eventually becoming indistinguishable from ordinary spring water.
Fortunately, as the spring continued to flow into the pond, the faint blue glow gradually returned.
"What an incredible spring! It reminds me of the healing springs featured in the anime. Ash's hometown also had a similar spring with healing properties. Sigh… If only we'd known about this earlier, perhaps Elsa's Milotic could have been saved. What a cruel twist of fate," Sato thought, his delight at the spring's miraculous properties tinged with regret as he remembered Elsa's Milotic.
Determined to make use of the spring, Sato tried bottling the water. However, something baffling happened.
Once removed from the pond, the water lost its faint blue glow and reverted to ordinary spring water, with none of its healing properties remaining.
"That's strange. Why does the water lose its effects the moment it leaves the pond?"
To confirm his suspicions, Sato lightly scratched his arm to create a minor wound.
Testing both the bottled water and the pond water, he found that only the pond water retained its healing properties.
The strange phenomenon left him utterly perplexed.
Realizing he couldn't solve the mystery on his own, Sato decided to leave it to experts like Professor Oak.
Despite being unable to take the spring water with him, Sato was still satisfied with Golbat and Bellossom's recovery. He turned his attention back to the Water Stones in the alcove.
The alcove was undoubtedly a treasure trove. As long as it remained undisturbed, the concentrated Water-type energy would continue producing Water Stones and the healing spring.
Without hesitation, Sato collected all 18 Water Stones.
However, when he examined the stones, he was shocked by their quality. These Water Stones had been nourished by pure Water-type energy for years, resulting in exceptional grades.
Of the 18 stones, 3 were medium-quality due to their relatively short formation time, but 13 were high-quality, and 2 were top-tier. This collection was undoubtedly a massive fortune.
"If news of this gets out, Lilycove City would likely descend into chaos. As the beneficiary of this treasure, I might not even make it out alive," Sato thought grimly.
"Keeping it all to myself is impossible. Besides, if not for Elsa's Milotic risking its life to save me, I wouldn't have found this treasure. Half of this wealth should rightfully go to Elsa. She could use it to rebuild the Lilycove Gym," Sato decided after a brief internal struggle, suppressing any selfish desires.
Just as he prepared to leave with the Water Stones, Marshtomp tugged at his hand and pointed back toward the alcove.
"What's wrong, Marshtomp?" Sato asked, crouching down to look where Marshtomp indicated.
Upon closer inspection, he noticed something he had missed earlier. Hidden at the top of the alcove, camouflaged by the glowing blue light, was another treasure—a Blue Water Stone the size of a baby's fist.
Unlike the other Blue Water Stones surrounding the alcove, this one continuously emitted strong Water-type energy waves. It was no ordinary stone—it was a top-grade Blue Water Stone.
From what Sato had learned, such stones were the primary material for crafting Mystic Water.
Unlike regular Blue Water Stones, this one didn't lose its energy and even had the unique ability to absorb Water-type energy from its surroundings.
