Chapter 122: Chapter 122 - Farewell!
Fast! Faster! Even faster!
The power of "One For All" erupted, combined with the repelling effect of the "Permeation" Quirk. Togata Mirio's ultimate move, a fusion of his abilities, struck with the force of a star. All for One couldn't even sense its shadow, getting repeatedly struck and left floating in the air, unable to fight back.
Even with multiple Quirks that enhanced his physical strength, the relentless attacks from Lemillion barely scratched All for One's formidable defenses. And with "Super Regeneration," any damage he sustained was quickly healed.
But just as Lemillion had said, if one attack wasn't enough, then he'd deliver "a million" more. In an instant, All for One was bombarded by hundreds upon thousands of punches, so fast that he couldn't even see where they were coming from.
"No… Damn it…"
All for One groaned in pain. His "Super Regeneration" couldn't keep up anymore. Under Togata Mirio's relentless and rapid assault, the damage was far outpacing his healing. If this continued, he really might lose to Lemillion's ultimate move.
Unable to endure the unending pain, All for One's other arm morphed into a massive form. Both his giant fists collided with immense force, unleashing a powerful shockwave that created a massive storm out of thin air.
Togata Mirio paused briefly, his movements slowed. In his "Godspeed" state, he couldn't perfectly use Permeation to avoid the wide-range shockwave, and the attack affected him.
"Die, Ninth generation of One For All!"
In just that brief pause, All for One seized the moment to target Lemillion. His giant fists swung down at him with overwhelming power—an attack even All Might wouldn't have been able to withstand.
Facing such a deadly strike, Togata Mirio stared coldly, neither flinching nor dodging. It seemed All for One, in his anger, had forgotten about Lemillion's Quirk.
Both giant fists phased harmlessly through Togata Mirio's body thanks to "Permeation." Taking advantage of the moment, Lemillion wound up another punch and smashed All for One's face, sinking it in yet again.
With his neck twisted and face distorted, All for One was sent flying like a cannonball, crashing into the rubble of a collapsed building, causing another wave of destruction.
"I am the Ninth Holder of One For All—and Lemillion! Do you get it now!?"
Togata Mirio shouted angrily in the direction of the rubble. All for One, the sworn enemy of One For All, whom All Might had defeated at great cost, was now being completely overwhelmed, unable to retaliate at all.
This was the true strength of Togata Mirio, the Ninth Holder of One For All!
"You're… truly strong… Togata Mirio…"
All for One staggered to his feet from the rubble, battered and bruised. His face was still covered in injuries that hadn't healed. The relentless onslaught from Lemillion had pushed his "Super Regeneration" to its limit. Perhaps, after his battle with All Might, his body had already been left in shambles.
"After confirming it myself, even though Tomura inherited everything from me, he still can't match your level. Only Midoriya Izuku could surpass you."
"Shut up! I won't let you target Midoriya. He's a hero who deserves respect!"
Togata Mirio was furious at All for One's words. Midoriya reminded him of his younger self. Back then, Mirio often messed up because his Quirk was hard to control, and his dream of becoming a hero was mocked by everyone. Yet, he persevered, earning Nighteye's recognition and becoming All Might's successor.
For Midoriya Izuku, wanting to become a hero without a Quirk was almost impossible. Yet he worked harder than anyone and pushed through countless hardships to reach where he was now. He had even fought to the brink of death to protect Kota. Mirio hated himself for not arriving sooner—maybe Midoriya wouldn't have been so badly injured.
All for One's words made Mirio feel worse. Midoriya being targeted by the enemy was partly because of Nighteye. As Nighteye's student, Mirio felt it was his responsibility to make up for his mentor's mistakes.
"You're spending the rest of your life in prison!"
Determined to take down the villain today, Mirio activated [Permeation], sinking into the ground while unleashing the full power of [One for All]. The combined burst of both Quirks propelled him to incredible speed as his fist shot toward All for One's head.
This time, All for One's face twisted into a smug smile. Just as Mirio's punch was about to land, a pool of black liquid appeared out of nowhere. To Mirio's shock, All Might emerged from the black void.
Caught off guard but reacting instantly, Mirio didn't hesitate. Despite All Might's sudden appearance, his fist powered through, hitting All Might with no resistance thanks to [Permeation], and landed squarely on All for One's face. The punch smashed into him, deforming his face and sending him crashing into the ruins, dragging a long trench along the ground.
Mirio quickly caught All Might mid-fall, preventing him from hitting the ground.
"Your reaction time is unbelievable," All for One muttered, his voice tinged with frustration. "Even in a situation like that, you managed to make the right decision. It's almost maddening how talented you are."
All for One lay slumped in the rubble, showing no desire to stand. Being repeatedly punched in the face was starting to wear him down. Mirio's combination of [Permeation] and [One for All] was too much to handle.
Moments earlier, when Mirio's punch was about to land, All for One had used a [Teleportation] Quirk he'd recently stolen. It allowed him to transport familiar people or objects over short distances. All Might, someone All for One was deeply familiar with, had been pulled in to serve as a shield.
But Mirio's quick thinking and seamless control of [Permeation] had let him avoid hitting All Might, landing a direct punch on All for One instead. Even All for One had to admit Mirio's skill was extraordinary.
"Using a trick like that—how despicable!"
"Heh... I'm a villain, after all. Besides, compared to your [Permeation], my actions are far less underhanded."
Mirio's anger flared at the taunt, but All for One wasn't interested in arguing. The Quirk combination Mirio had was even more troublesome than his own. There was no point in continuing this fight.
"Goodbye, All Might and Togata Mirio. Be sure to give my regards to Midoriya Izuku..."
"!!!"
In a rush, Togata Mirio couldn't hesitate after hearing all-for-one's words. His incredible speed activated as he lunged at the man, but it was still a moment too late.
A black portal appeared beneath all-for-one, and as he waved goodbye to Mirio and All Might, he vanished into Kurogiri's [Warp Gate].
"Damn it!!"
"That bastard!!"
With all-for-one escaping, All Might and Togata Mirio could only regret what had happened, but it was already too late. The enemy's leader had slipped away right in front of them.
"Midoriya... he's been targeted by all-for-one..."
This harsh reality now faced All Might and Togata Mirio, marking only the beginning. The future foreseen by Sir Nighteye lingered in their minds as a dire warning.
When the delayed arrival of police and heroes occurred, All Might met with Officer Tsukauchi to report the events. Meanwhile, Mirio sat anxiously amidst the rubble, deep in thought.
...If Midoriya Izuku had inherited [One For All] instead, would things have turned out differently? Would Sir Nighteye's vision of the future have been less grim?
