Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes scanned the room, his gaze lingering on the rows of ancient tomes and dusty scrolls that lined the shelves. He was a man who valued knowledge and power, and he knew that the key to understanding Amun's behavior lay hidden in the pages of these ancient texts.
He strode over to a large, ornate desk, his fingers drumming a staccato beat on the surface as he waited for his advisor, Lord Ravenswood, to arrive. He had summoned the old man to discuss Amun's behavior, and he was not a patient man.
Just then, the door creaked open and Lord Ravenswood entered, his eyes sunken and his face pale.
"Your Highness," he bowed, his voice low and gravelly.
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing.
"Lord Ravenswood, I have summoned you to discuss my son's behavior. I fear he is becoming increasingly... unpredictable."
Lord Ravenswood's eyes flickered, and he cleared his throat before speaking.
"Yes, Your Highness. I have been monitoring Amun's behavior, and I must agree that he is exhibiting some... unusual tendencies."
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes snapped, his voice cold.
"Unusual tendencies? What do you mean?"
Lord Ravenswood hesitated, his eyes darting around the room before settling on the Crown Prince.
"I've noticed that Amun seems to be... drawn to the outside world, Your Highness. He's been sneaking out of the estate, and I fear he may be... influenced by outside forces."
Crown Prince Zuberi's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger.
"Influenced? What do you mean?"
"He likes being out his a prince of course he isn't like other kids."
Lord Ravenswood's eyes dropped, his voice measured.
"Yes, of course, Your Highness. But... I've also noticed that Amun seems to be drawn to a particular individual. A woman, to be exact."
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing.
"A woman? What woman?"*
Lord Ravenswood hesitated, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm not entirely sure, Your Highness. But I've seen Amun with a woman who... doesn't seem to be from our social circle. She's... different, somehow."
Crown Prince Zuberi's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger.
"Different? What do you mean?"
"He made the little prince smile actually we couldn't find anything on this woman at all she is like a ghost."
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes widened, his expression a mixture of surprise and concern.
"A ghost? What do you mean, Lord Ravenswood?"
Lord Ravenswood's voice was laced with a hint of unease.
"I mean, Your Highness, that this woman seems to have no identity, no background, no connections to anyone or anything. It's as if she appeared out of thin air. And yet, Amun seems to be drawn to her in a way that's... unsettling."
Crown Prince Zuberi's face hardened, his jaw clenched in a mixture of anger and determination.
"I want to know more about this woman. I want to know everything about her. Find out who she is, what she wants, and what her connection is to my son."
Lord Ravenswood nodded, his eyes downcast.
"Yes, Your Highness. I'll do my best to uncover more information about this mysterious woman."
"Crown Prince Zuberi you heard about the explosion that happened last night at the Frost Estate?" Lord Ravenswood asked and Crown Prince Zuberi eyes flicked but he didn't seem to interested.
*Crown Prince Zuberi's expression remained neutral, his voice dismissive.
"What does the Frost Estate have to do with me or my son, Lord Ravenswood?"
"I…sorry sir it doesn't but one of your nephews is marrying the daughter there."
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes narrowed slightly, his voice taking on a hint of interest.
"Ah, yes. The Frost daughter. I had almost forgotten about that arrangement. Which nephew is marrying her again?"
"Prince Ryker, he was the one who actually dated the fake daughter Aika but seven years ago she disappeared she is also your sister best friend who has been trying to search for her."
Crown Prince Zuberi's expression changed, his eyes flashing with surprise and interest.
"Aika... I hadn't thought about her in years. My sister's best friend, and Ryker's... former flame, if I recall correctly. What makes you bring her up now, Lord Ravenswood?"
"Sir countless of people say she is dead, a wild woman because of the scandal that happened seven years ago."
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes seemed to glaze over, his expression distant.
"The scandal... yes, I remember. My sister was devastated when Aika disappeared. She was like a sister to her, after all. And Ryker... he was heartbroken. I had no idea he was still thinking about her, though."
He paused, his eyes refocusing on Lord Ravenswood.
"But what does this have to do with the explosion at the Frost Estate? And what makes you think Aika is connected to it?"
"Crown Prince Zuberi you are mistaken Prince Ryker wasn't heartbroken he cheated on her."
Crown Prince Zuberi's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing in surprise and disgust.
"What? Ryker cheated on her? I wasn't aware of that. My sister never told me the details of their breakup. But that's not surprising, considering Ryker's... reputation."
He paused, his voice taking on a tone of disdain.
"I'm not surprised he would cheat on someone like Aika. She was always too good for him, anyway."
He looked at Lord Ravenswood, his eyes serious.
"But I still don't see how this relates to the explosion at the Frost Estate. What are you trying to tell me, Lord Ravenswood?"
Crown Prince Zuberi's eyes widened in surprise, his expression incredulous.
"Aika was invited to Ryker's engagement party? After everything that happened between them? That's... unexpected. I wouldn't have thought Ryker would have the audacity to invite her, considering how things ended between them."
He leaned forward, his voice taking on a tone of curiosity.
"And what happened at the party, Lord Ravenswood? Did Aika attend? And how did Ryker react to seeing her again?"
"Crown Prince the engagement party is this Saturday, do you want to attend?"
Crown Prince Zuberi's expression turned thoughtful, his eyes narrowing as he considered the invitation.
"Ah, this Saturday, you say? I think I will attend the engagement party, Lord Ravenswood. I'm curious to see how Ryker and his fiancée interact, and of course, I'm interested in seeing Aika again after all these years."
He leaned back in his chair, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
"Yes, I think it will be a fascinating evening. Make sure to clear my schedule for Saturday, Lord Ravenswood. I wouldn't want to miss it for the world."
"Would you bring the little prince? Or allow him to stay with Butler Reed?"
Crown Prince Zuberi's expression turned serious, his eyes clouding over with concern.
"No, I think it would be best if Amun stayed with Butler Reed. The engagement party may be too... complicated for him, and I don't want him to get caught up in the drama that may ensue."
He paused, his voice taking on a tone of determination.
"Besides, I have a feeling that Aika's presence may stir up some... interesting developments, and I don't want Amun to get hurt in the crossfire. Butler Reed will keep him safe and out of the way."
"Oh and the famous mage neurosurgeon Dr. Queens we have been searching for rumors has it she is in our galaxy but we couldn't find her whereabouts," Ravenreed said.
