Chapter 200: Chapter 200: The Princess
Five beams of amber light and fifty blue laser blasts slammed into the twenty T5 mechanical battleships docked at the spaceport. The surprise attack left the enemy in utter chaos, the spaceport descending into a frenzy as ships scrambled to respond.
Feng Mo's gaze remained on the radar screen as the twenty mechanical battleships, equipped with autonomous shield systems, automatically activated their defenses. Yet, they were no match for the powerful T5 cluster annihilation cannons from the Storm God and the Paladin, combined with the barrage of laser blasts. The initial assault obliterated eight enemy battleships, with one left heavily damaged and unable to lift off.
By the time the two T4 Scorpions had revealed themselves, alarms blared inside the mechanical fleet's ships, but it was too late. The Storm God and Paladin were within radar range, weapons charged and primed.
As Feng Mo launched his assault on Moss Planet, the mechanical commander Roller listened to his subordinates' frantic reports. His expression twisted into a scowl. Despite his mechanical nature, his face displayed emotions almost indistinguishable from those of a human.
"Commander, should we initiate the evacuation of the Star Spirit Princess?" asked his adjutant.
"No need," Roller replied coldly. "If we try to move her, none of us will make it out. Our opponent is Feng Mo, Lord of the Storm Empire. With his tactics and the Storm God's advanced radar, there's nowhere to hide. We'll use whatever forces we have left to delay him, but we must prepare for our own withdrawal."
The remaining eleven T5 mechanical battleships scrambled to lift off, but their shields were already nearly depleted. The hurried launch led to collisions and jams within the spaceport, causing further chaos.
Above the blazing spaceport, the two T4 Scorpions dropped volleys of missiles and torpedoes, fueling the inferno. The fire engulfed one vessel after another as the eleven remaining mechanical battleships attempted to escape into space, only to be met by the Storm God and Paladin's second wave of attacks.
Once again, five amber beams and fifty blue lasers tore through the void. The second wave of strikes obliterated the eleven ships that had barely reached space, their weakened shields no match for such concentrated firepower.
"Scan Moss Planet for the Star Spirit," Feng Mo ordered. "Feng Xian, lead the mech squad for the rescue."
"Yes, Lord!" Feng Xian acknowledged.
At his command, ten T4 titanium mechs exited the Storm God, their thrusters lighting up as they descended like meteors toward the surface of Moss Planet. Feng Mo had pinpointed the Star Spirit Princess's location through radar—a towering woman, over two meters tall, bound in an iron cage, shackled at her wrists and ankles.
"If it were me, I wouldn't treat someone like that," Feng Mo muttered to himself, thinking, To win a woman's heart, you start by winning over her appetite. It was a fundamental truth.
As the ten T4 titanium mechs landed, they encountered sparse resistance from Moss's rudimentary defenses. With the planet's defense systems limited to T3 capabilities, they posed no threat to the mechs. Feng Xian directed the mech squad through the palace housing the Star Spirit, meeting little organized resistance.
"Titanium 56789, set up perimeter defense. The rest, follow me inside for extraction!" Feng Xian commanded.
Five mech pilots exited their cockpits, stepping out in black combat suits that instantly shifted into protective battle armor made from memory metal, thanks to the Storm Empire's well-stocked reserves. This battle armor gave the mech squad an added layer of protection, ideal for the high-risk missions they undertook.
Feng Xian and his team moved swiftly through the deserted palace, reaching the room where the Star Spirit Princess was held. Using a laser from his finger cannon, Feng Xian sliced through the iron cage and removed the shackles from her wrists and ankles.
He couldn't help but marvel at her presence. Tall and ethereal, the Star Spirit Princess's aura was exceptional. The lord will likely be captivated by her, he mused.
"Greetings," Feng Xian addressed her politely. "Storm Fleet's mech squad under the command of the Storm Empire. Our lord, Feng Mo, instructed us to ensure your safety."
Feng Xian gave a respectful nod, hoping to make a good impression on behalf of Feng Mo, then carefully helped the princess to her feet and into the mech. During the journey back to the ship, the princess remained silent, her head bowed as though lost in thought.
Even as Feng Xian freed her, she neither expressed thanks nor spoke, moving mechanically as she followed them out.
The ten T4 titanium mechs returned to the fleet without incident. Feng Mo issued the next order: "Mission complete. Prepare to leave the Sairen System and return home!"
Knowing the interstellar mechanical fleet stationed hundreds of battleships in the Sairen System, Feng Mo had no intention of staying longer. The enemy likely knew of his assault by now and reinforcements were surely on the way.
At Feng Mo's command, the five ships reversed course and departed. Thirty minutes later, a squadron from the interstellar mechanical fleet arrived at Moss Planet. Staring at the blazing spaceport and the wreckage, the mechanical commander barely restrained his rage as he contacted his superiors to request permission to pursue the Storm Fleet into the Beast Roar System.
Feng Mo anticipated this response. After reuniting with half the Storm Fleet in the Beast Roar System, he sent two T5 Mystic Birds and two T4 Scorpions to monitor the Sairen System. The Beast Roar System was placed on high alert, with the nearby Celestial Crystal Fleet set to respond if needed.
Back at the starport base in the Beast Roar System, Feng Mo sat in his office, observing the tall figure seated across from him. He spoke warmly, "Allow me to introduce myself. Feng Mo, Lord of the Storm Empire, under the Starsea Human Federation. It's a pleasure to meet you, madam."
Finally, the towering woman responded, lifting her head to reveal her exquisitely beautiful face. She looked Feng Mo in the eye and introduced herself, "Princess Xing Shuwen of the Star Spirit Empire, Ninth Princess of the Tianque Domain."
Feng Mo's heart skipped a beat. The Tianque Domain—a name from ancient times. A domain of that size encompassed thousands, even tens of thousands of star systems. To rule
over such an expanse marked a true interstellar power.
