Alex gave Charles a peculiar look but noticed that his gaze remained steady. His subconscious told him that Charles was sincere—he truly believed that humans and mutants were equals!

"Tch, I worried for nothing!"

Realizing this, Alex immediately loosened his grip on the hilt of his blade.

He trusted his subconscious implicitly; it had saved his life numerous times. If Charles could deceive even his subconscious, then Alex would have no choice but to concede defeat.

To be honest, while Alex didn't agree with Charles' idealistic way of handling things, he couldn't help but admire his unwavering determination.

Shirou Emiya, Naruto, Su Huan Zhen—each of them had goals that went against the prevailing currents of their worlds. Yet, despite the odds, they pressed forward without hesitation. You didn't have to agree with them, but their resilience was undeniable. Compared to those weak-willed individuals who wavered and shifted their stances at the slightest pressure, such people commanded respect!

If Charles was the same type of person, Alex realized he didn't need to worry about the fate of these mutants.

Having laid his concerns to rest, Alex returned to his usual relaxed and casual demeanor. "So, how do you plan to settle these people?"

Hearing this, all the mutants present couldn't help but look tense. Charles' next words would decide their future survival!

Charles smiled. "My friends and I are planning to establish a school specifically for mutants—X Academy. It will serve as a sanctuary for those who are homeless and struggling to control their abilities. Anyone who is willing is welcome to join the academy I'll be setting up in New York. Incidentally, Jean was one of my earlier students."

"That sounds great!"

Charles' words brought cheers from the gathered mutants. After enduring the horrors of human experimentation on the island, they had formed deep bonds with their companions. The thought of parting ways was unbearable. But now, with X Academy, they could stay together while ensuring their freedom and safety. How could they not be overjoyed?

"X Academy?"

Muttering the name to himself, Alex chuckled indifferently. These internal matters of the mutants were none of his business, and he was happy to leave them to their own devices.

"?!"

Just as this thought crossed his mind, Alex glanced up and saw Jean glaring daggers at him, her eyes practically bulging in indignation—clearly still holding a grudge over his earlier actions!

"Even Charles doesn't mind. What's your problem? Seriously, women—you sure know how to hold a grudge!"

Alex shot her an exasperated look in return, deciding to ignore these people altogether. Once they reached the mainland, he would head straight back to New York and catch up with his two old friends!
