Chapter 20: 20:Sunk
"I'm 23." The Marine said as she sat down in a random chair in his office; Dylan spun his chair to look at the sunken ship; it was clear they had been sunken with ice. "Also flattery doesn't work on me."
"Oh, I wish it did." Dylan said as he turned his chair to look at her, "Okay, but why do you want some random security guard to save this town? Why don't you just call for backup?" She sighed as she moved the chair closer to his desk. When she finally got across, she started to explain, "I am a marine, been here for 9 years, got promoted fast, Lieutenant Colonel thinks I can handle him despite what I tell him."
"I have about 60 men under my belt and none of them strong enough, not even I'm strong enough, despite being a First Lieutenant." Dylan whispered, "Rough I guess, but why me?" He asked.
"I saw you single-handled sink 3 pirate ships by yourself with that ice magic of yours; I know you're strong enough." Dylan thought about it, "Still no." She then grabbed him by the collar, "Listen here kid, I want something done, then you do it. No one will want to do business here if they think they aren't protected when they sleep."
"You won't have a job then or I just kill you here?" She was fed up as she pulled out a pistol that was previously hanging from her hip; it was now pointed at his cranium. "Actually if I do it, I want something." He said as he looked closer at her chest, "Lieutenant Vick. I want you to go on a date with me if I pull it off and if I die, I'll haunt you. Sound good?"
Her finger slightly squeezed the trigger but then she released it, "Fine, Mr..." Dylan spoke, "Mr Voll."
