Chapter 44
Chapter 44
Things that top students do are always highly sought after, no matter what books they read or what supplementary materials they use for their studies. People are always eager to explore.
Su Fei looked at how another day had passed. During her time outside attending classes, she spent most of her time in the library.
As it was getting dark and she had finished studying, Su Fei hurried home for dinner. She quickly returned the books she had finished reading and picked up a few new ones to read at home.
After Su Fei left, the group of students behind her quickly went over and checked the several books she had picked up earlier. Then they all froze, dumbfounded.
“Why are they all English books, and some about Japanese? Is Su Fei thinking of changing majors? But that’s impossible; think about how well she’s doing in her current major!”
“Forget it. Since these aren’t related to her major, maybe she just wants to develop her skills further. It’s a bit disappointing though; I thought we could get some insider information about the exams.”
Su Fei sneezed twice, rubbed her nose, and didn’t take it seriously. She wondered which person was cursing her behind her back.
“I’ll go buy Ningning’s favorite sauce beef. His taste has been a bit strange lately, so I’ll also buy some fresh fruits… But there aren’t any fresh fruits now, only apples and pears…” Su Fei muttered to herself as she walked, planning to buy some snacks that Ningning would like.
At home, Ningning wasn’t idle either. He was doing some handiwork with the neighbor, brother Zhu, and then they sat together in the house talking. Brother Zhu’s children weren’t crying or making trouble; they were playing by themselves in the house.
Ningning wasn’t particularly stingy. When he saw brother Zhu’s children come over to play, he quickly took out some of the snacks and sweets Su Fei had brought back and offered them.
“Don’t be polite, eat quickly,” Ningning’s originally somewhat intimidating face softened a bit, especially when he saw the children.
After brother Zhu nodded in approval, his children quickly took the snacks. “Thank you, Uncle Ning!”
Brother Zhu looked at the five or six different snacks on the table and couldn’t help but feel a little envious of Ningning. “You’re living such a good life. Doesn’t Su Fei scold you?”
“What would she scold me for? I don’t particularly like these snacks. These snacks are all what she wants to eat herself. She’s like a child, still particularly fond of snacks.” Ningning said with a hint of sweetness.
Despite Su Fei now appearing as a strong woman on the outside, only he knew that Su Fei was still a child at heart, a woman who needed to be pampered and spoiled by others.
“I’m back! How was your day? Are you feeling uncomfortable?” Su Fei hadn’t entered the house yet, but her words were already a string of questions directed at Ningning.
Brother Zhu quickly took his child home, no longer being a third wheel here.
“Take some snacks for the child, don’t rush,” Ningning quickly stopped brother Zhu as he was about to leave, before even answering Su Fei’s question.
“Yes, take some snacks. Thank you so much, brother Zhu,” Su Fei quickly added.
Brother Zhu happily went home with his child, boasting to the neighbors about how generous the Su family was.
“Everything’s fine, everything’s fine,” Ningning hurried to cook, with Su Fei following closely behind to help.
Thanks to brother Zhu’s publicity, Ningning and Su Fei had left a good impression on their neighbors. They were known as generous and ambitious students.
Ningning gradually entered other social circles, built his own circle of friends, and found common topics with other pregnant man.
Now Ningning’s social network was much stronger than Zhang’s. He and others began discussing how to make some extra money. After giving birth, they planned to start a business while taking care of their children.
Su Fei also obtained the exam permit and was preparing for the English and Japanese exams. She was the first to take this kind of foreign language exam.
As one of the prominent figures in the school, Su Fei attracted a lot of attention during the exams. For those who liked Su Fei, this symbolized her talent and perfection. She was seen as a versatile person, and her future prospects were highly anticipated.
For those who didn’t like Su Fei, they was simply a hypocrite, someone who was trying too hard. Her previous experiences had already earned praise from many professors.
“You should learn from Su Fei. She’s doing well in her major and even took two foreign language exams on purpose…” Teachers felt that having such a proactive learner might be a motivation for other students.
“Su Fei is just too good at pretending. I heard from the seniors that some students in our major couldn’t even pass these advanced certificates. She, who hasn’t even attended classes, relies on self-study to take the exams. Isn’t this making a fool of oneself?” Many people whispered sourly about Su Fei behind her back.
“You guys are just jealous. Just because women can’t do it doesn’t mean others can’t. Don’t blind yourselves when the time comes!!”
Su Fei didn’t even know that her exams this time had attracted the attention of the whole school. Everyone was waiting to see if this person who had caused such a stir in the school could achieve good results.
